Clerk has written to Shabby Chic and the wares are not
now being displayed.
HIGHWAYS AND FOOTPATHS
Mill Lane slip road
3 no posts installed at junction with Sawbridgeworth
Road.
Vehicle Activated Sign
Vehicle Activated sign is due to be positioned at the end
of the month. Agreed location is outside school, but we
suggest for eastbound traffic rather than westbound.
Bus Stop Sign
Bus stop sign has been erected.
Community Speed Watch
Training will take place at 10 am on 13th March. Good
response to Village Magazine advert.
Speed limit issues
Cllrs Sullivan and Waller met Chris Stoneham ECC
Highways, re engineering measures for speed limit.
Proposal is to position islands as near to the 30 mph
signs as possible on both Stortford and Sawbridgeworth
Roads. Clerk to write to Ian Liddell Shrubbs Farm asking
if combine harvesters need to use Sawbridgeworth Road
as this may affect design.
Clerk to write to residents in locality of Chestnut Close
regarding the erection of a tall low wattage lamp on the
central refuge.
Litter collection
Clerk to write to UDC asking if they are able to collect
litter from approach roads to the village.
PLAY AREA
Open Space
Clerk has circulated a letter from the solicitors of the
Tayler Trustees suggesting that there will be no
relaxation of the clauses on the draft lease. Proposed by
Cllr Sheekey that the lease be signed. Seconded by Cllr
Jones. Carried. Lease signed.
VILLAGE HALL:
There has not been a further meeting of the Village Hall
Management Committee. Deferred to next meeting.
OTHER REPORTS FROM COUNCILLORS
Rookwood Hall Appeal
Cllr Jones has received notification of an appeal against a
Refusal for Rookwood Hall. Clerk has not received any
notification. Clerk to contact EFDC

Hatfield Grange
Clerk has now received a reply regarding the garage
being built at Hatfield Grange, Sparrow Lane. Garage is
within permitted development and does not require
planning permission.
Oak Lodge
Mrs Hogan has requested written confirmation of
enforcement officers decision relation to Oak Lodge.
Clerk to contact UDC
St Cloud
Clerk passed on details of planning application to Cllr
O’Sullivan regarding works at St Cloud, Matching Road.
