Hunter 27 • AC Electric Systems
AC Electric Systems
Besides a 12 Volt DC negative ground system, your
Hunter boat has a 120V 60 HZ AC system.
It is not the intent of this manual to educate you on repair
or extending the electrical system. The scope of this manual
is to provide the basic information needed for safety,
operation and maintenance of these systems.
competent technicians to service your electrical
systems!
8.1.1 Shore Power
8.1.1.1 To Connect and Turn on Shore Power
1. On the boat:
A. Turn off equipment breakers. (See Figure 8.1)
B. Turn off shore power inlet breaker. (See Figure 8.2)
! WARNING !
Electricity cannot be detected without the use of
specialized test equipment. Never think you know
whether a circuit is “live”. Always have qualified,
competent professionals inspect or make repairs to
your electrical systems.
8.1 AC Power Systems & Components
The AC System consists of the following systems or
components:
•
•
•
•
•
•
120 Volt AC Panel
Shore Power
Outlets
Microwave
Battery Charger
Water Heater
The AC system is a three-wire grounded system powered
by shore power hookup located aft. Circuit breaker for AC
power is located in starboard aft cabin.
Note: It is important that you review the “Electric Shock” pamphlet
included with your manual and understand the importance
of electrical safety. While electricity is one of our greatest
friends, it can well be your worst enemy. Be sure and follow
the warnings posted in this manual and your component or
systems manuals in your owner’s packet and practice good
safety. Always have trained, competent technicians to service
your electrical systems, it could mean your life.
Figure 8.1
A ground fault interruption circuit (GFIC) protects all outlet
circuits. This system prevents accidental electrical shock.
If power is lost to an outlet, reset the system at the GFIC
outlet.
! DANGER !
Never work on an energized circuit! Always treat
any circuit as if it were live! Always have trained,
