A better future for “Carolina and her children”
Donations instead of gifts
Instead of a reception in honour
of the company’s
225th anniversary in the
summer of 2000, Bachmann’s
management decided
to collect donations for the
Brazilian orphanage “Carolina
and her children”. With
considerable support from
Imperial the total donations
amounted to over 100,000
DM.
On site in Embu, Bachmann
Managing Director
Wolfgang Kulenkampff, who
also speaks Portuguese, organised
what was to be done
with this money together
with the responsible parties.

In Brazil a lot of good things
can be done with 100,000
DM. A house for teenage
girls is being constructed and
a covered area to play while
it rains will be set up. Also a
soccer field, not only for the
boys, will be prepared. Finally
a pickup truck was purchased
for trips to the school,
to the doctor or for transporting
food.
All these investments and
purchases will make life
easier for the children.
Bachmann and Imperial will
continue to support „Carolina
and her children“ in the
future. �
The over ninety children at the orphanage near Embu in
Brazil thank the many donators.
Also in aviation cooperations
are necessary and
possible today. Bachmann
is actively involved in

Who is Challenge?
A group of air freight
forwarders consisting of
small and medium-sized

in 1998 to work on major
routes jointly.

Based on our size, we can

within Challenge?
We operate a joint consolidation
centre in Frankfurt
where the general cargo
shipments are collected,
consolidated and flown to
their destinations.
What
are the
future prospects
of Challenge?
In a world in which
prices play an increasingly
important role, we have to
have the same volume as the
big players versus the airlines.
At present this represents
freight sales of around
150 million DM. We at
Challenge currently achieve
a level of 90 million DM for
Germany, i.e. our group
must continue to grow. �
