Routine for Panopa’s freight department: the right vehicles always transport steel
products of all kinds to the production and storage facilities of the customers.

Müller describes the cooperation
within Panopa’s

network of branches as
good. In Germany alone the
company is represented by
20 branch offices. This
makes it possible to set up
truck routes in cooperation
with colleagues at other locations
such that empty runs
are extensively avoided.
„This is a very important as-
pect with regard to pricing
with the truck carriers,“
notes Wiechmann.
The enormous rise in
costs recently (so-called
eco-tax in Germany, diesel
price, wage costs) has called
economic efficiency into
question for many companies.
The consequence has
been transport price increases
that were able to be
passed on to the customers
in most cases, however.
Provider for industrial relocations
Transport is the basis for
all freight business at
Panopa, but it is by no
means all that it has to offer
in the way of services. The
organisation of entire chains
of transport as well as normal
individual shipments
are also carried out for the
clients. Wolfgang Müller
and his staff have geared
their operations to this and
gone a step further: „We
also have the capacity and
manpower to handle complete
industrial relocations.“
Meticulous planning is followed
by dismantling, packing,
loading, transport, unloading
and reinstallation.
„We last performed such an
operation for a renowned
manufacturer of automobile
lock systems,“ reports
Müller.
Another brand-new project,
which Panopa is carrying
out on behalf of a large
automobile producer, involves
loading, transport
and unloading of a complete
car body production facility
from Wolfsburg to the future
production location in Brussels.
„The successful completion
of this and other orders
strengthens our self-confidence
and our optimism for
the future,“ explains Wolfgang
Müller. �
