ESOL (Holland Park & Marlborough) All applicants for ESOL courses have individual ESOL Advice and Guidance. All applicants for ESOL courses have an individual interview and language test to assess their level and decide the best course for them. Advice and Guidance is held at both Holland Park and Marlborough Centres. The Skills for Life programme prepares people based in the UK for life, study and work here. It has been developed in conjunction with the ESOL core curriculum, the first fully-developed national programme for English language learners. You will develop your English language skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing at the right level for you. You will also cover key grammar and vocabulary. Each term you will prepare for an ESOL Skills for Life exam with a qualified and enthusiastic teacher. In addition to gaining recognised qualifications you will feel more integrated into UK life and society, and more confident about applying for jobs or further study, through your work on this programme. Classes are offered at: ESOL Entry Level 1 – Beginners ESOL Entry Level 1B – Post-beginner ESOL Entry Level 2 – Elementary ESOL Entry Level 3 – Intermediate ESOL Level 1 – Higher Intermediate ESOL Level 2 – Advanced Fees Students who have been resident in EU countries for the past three years have to pay for the course. Students from outside the EU will have to pay a fee based on £10 per hour. SKILLS FOR LIFE PROGRAMME Daytime Skills for Life classes These courses run at our Marlborough Centre and are either two or three sessions per week, in the morning or the afternoon. Evening Skills for Life classes These courses run at our Holland Park Centre Evenings: 6:30-9:00pm 5 hours = Tue/Thu TERM 2 ENROLMENT & TIMES 7-30 January and 31 March - 2 April 2008 Cambridge Proficiency This is a course for very advanced learners aiming to take Proficiency in June 2008 10 weeks £270 Wednesday’s 9:30am-12:30pm at Marlborough. esol (holland park & Marlborough) www.kcc.ac.uk 35
