Reading and Writing
These courses are primarily for people who have English as their first language. If you want to learn English as another language,
please look for courses with ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages).
Improve your Reading and Writing 1 Entry level
Small, friendly classes where you learn to read and write and study the basics of spelling.
Improve your Reading and Writing 2 Entry level
An opportunity to refresh and develop reading and writing skills. Learn how to read and write for different purposes and increase
your confidence in spelling and punctuation.
Improve your Reading and Writing 3 Entry level
Take your reading and writing skills to a higher level, increase your confidence and get the skills you need to take on important daily
reading and writing tasks.
Improving your Reading and Writing 4 Level 1
Extend your skills with more complex spelling, punctuation and grammar, and learn how to structure your writing. Develop fluency
and a greater vocabulary in your reading and writing.
GCSE English Language Level 2
If you have well developed reading skills, feel confident about your writing and need GCSE for access to employment, further
study or for your personal development, this will be a rewarding course for you. Enrolment for GCSE takes place only in June, July,
September and October. It is not possible to join a GCSE course in January
