(Albumen must first be removed by coagulation.) Dry at loo'^c. and weigh. 13. Tests for Bile- (1) Place a little urine on a white plate, add HNO3. A peculiar play of colors — green, yellow, violet, &c. — occurs if coloring matter of bile is present. (2) Agitate concentrated urine with boiling ether. If bile is pr'esent the ether solution will be greenish-yellow. (3) Add baric acetate to urine, treat the ppt with alcohol, decompose it with HCl, and evaporate the liquid to dryness.
