It’s time to pack your dancing shoes and head to Westport for a weekend of tapping your<br />
toes and clicking your heels. We are delighted to have one of Ireland’s best ceili musicians,<br />
Martin Duggan, providing the music this year again. This weekend break is ideal for anyone<br />
who wants to enjoy a great weekend’s craic, and is not limited to dancers! As well as dancing<br />
we promise a weekend of good food, lively music, and accommodation in a luxurious hotel<br />
in the one of the liveliest towns in the West!<br />
Fri 26th: Letterkenny – Sligo - Westport<br />
We leave Letterkenny and enjoy a leisurely journey through Sligo and into Mayo to our<br />
hotel in Westport. This evening you can relax and unwind in the hotel or enjoy a stroll by<br />
the harbour. After dinner this evening there is live music and dancing to get those toes<br />
tapping!<br />
Sat 27th: Free Day in Westport – or – Day Trip to Achill<br />
A day at your leisure to explore the bustling streets of Westport, maybe do a spot of<br />
shopping, or enjoy a walk in the beautiful grounds of Westport House. For anyone who<br />
would prefer to sit back and be chauffeured, we have a day tour along the northern shore<br />
of Clew Bay before crossing the causeway to Achill Island, the largest island off the Coast<br />
of Ireland. The island is dominated by two peaks, Slievemore and Croghaun, and is home to<br />
Kildavnet Castle, associated with Granuaile (Grace O’Malley) the famous “Pirate-Queen of<br />
the West”. We return to our hotel with time to relax, enjoy dinner, and another lively night<br />
of dancing.<br />
Sun 28th: Westport – Sligo - Letterkenny<br />
After a leisurely morning we leave Westport and return home, humming tunes from the<br />
weekend, and with a spring in our step!<br />
