Greenleaf Corporation
Greenleaf Corporation is a leading developer
of cutting tool technology, specializing in
the manufacturing of high-performance
tungsten carbide and ceramic inserts as well
as innovative toolholding systems. Greenleaf
continues to build on 65 years of innovation,
which centers on supplying customers with
productive solutions to every metalcutting
situation.
Greenleaf Corporation is positioned to
serve the evolving needs of companies in all
major segments of the metalcutting industry
including gas turbine, mold, steel, medical,
roll turning, automotive, machine tools and
rail. Greenleaf’s products are engineered to
provide optimal performance against a wide
range of materials under the most rigorous
metalcutting conditions. In addition to
specially engineered toolholding systems
and a comprehensive line of carbide inserts,
Greenleaf offers high-quality ceramic and
ceramic-composite materials, which can
be custom designed for specific machining
applications.
Greenleaf has multiple products beneficial
to the moldmaking industry including the
Excelerator® Ball Nose End Mills, Excelerator®
XF High-Feed Mills, and the recently
introduced WG-700 Whisker-Reinforced
Ceramic Inserts. Greenleaf’s ball nose end
mills are the only complete line of ball nose
cutters designed to use both carbide and
ceramic inserts in the same qualified cutter
bodies. Greenleaf’s Excelerator® XF cutters
are designed for high-feed milling on a wide
variety of materials including hard steels
and high-temp alloys. All Excelerator® XF
cutters can use Greenleaf’s carbide or whiskerreinforced
ceramic inserts.
Greenleaf introduced the world’s first
reinforced ceramic composite, WG-300®, in
1985, which revolutionized the world of jet
44
engine manufacturing. Greenleaf has followed
up on that success with innovation after
innovation including the newest whiskerreinforced
ceramic insert, WG-700. WG-
700’s substrate benefits from an optimized
whisker load, which improves its crack and
wear resistance while increasing its overall
strength. A new proprietary, nano-layered
coating provides low-friction machining in
wet and dry environments, high temperature
stability, abrasion resistance, oxidation
resistance and chemical inertness. WG-700
is capable of higher metal-removal rates than
other whisker-reinforced ceramic inserts.
From its headquarters in Saegertown,
Pennsylvania, and its office in Schimmert,
The Netherlands, Greenleaf maintains its
commitment to pioneering breakthroughs
in cutting tool technology and delivering
productivity solutions to customers
around the world.
