75,000 Fit and Fun Rutgers–Camden's recently renovated Athletic and Fitness Center is a 75,000-square-foot facility filled with over 40 cardio machines, including treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, steppers, cross trainers, and spin bikes. The facility also includes a full line of circuit strength training equipment, a resistance pool, a state-of-the-art training room, and a renovated lobby and courts for the Scarlet Raptors’ basketball and volleyball programs. Web: uhr.rutgers.edu/lpd Phone: 848-932-3868 Public Safety and Emergencies ● Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) The internationally accredited RUPD operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to provide the university community with a full range of police and security services. All police officers of the RUPD are commissioned by the State of New Jersey, are armed, and have attended NJ Police Training Commission approved academies. They patrol our campuses in marked police vehicles, on bikes, on foot, and on horses. ● Rutgers Emergency Services The office provides emergency response, emergency medical services, public safety education, and fire prevention and response. The department predominantly serves the Rutgers–New Brunswick/Piscataway campuses, however, many services are provided to all university properties statewide. Web: rues.rutgers.edu ● Rutgers Emergency Management The office provides information about communications and basic safety procedures to use in the event of emergencies that may include severe weather conditions, major power failures, fires and explosions, transportation accidents, other accidents involving mass casualties, release of hazardous materials, violent crimes, civil disorder, bomb threats, public health emergencies, and acts of terrorism. Rutgers will operate under one purchasing policy and process to maximize savings and leverage our combined purchasing power starting July 1. All employees who were assigned to Rutgers prior to integration will continue to use the Rutgers Integrated Administrative System (RIAS) while legacy UMDNJ employees will continue to use the MarketPlace system in Banner for their purchasing needs.
