Alpine Herb Garden

herbs and medicinal plants from across the Alpine region. Further

This self-guided pathway leads you through a world of native
flora and fauna, one which reflects the community’s active efforts to

Nature Trail on the Rotgüldensee
Muhr, the “National Park Village”
This self-guided trail generally takes you along the existing road: Ten
large information boards provide details about plant and animal life
inside the National Park, punctuating your walk to your final destination
– Rotgüldensee Lake. Start: Arsenhaus, terminus for the post bus.
Time-on-Trail: about 1 hour, approximately 400-meter elevation change.

Magic Forest Adventure Path
Muhr, the National Park Village
Great attractions such as a kids‘ climbing web, a log balancing path,
a dwarfs‘ village, a touch path, the many native forest animals just
waiting to be discovered and so much more, make this walking loop a
great experience for big and small. The wood cutter’s hut at the end of
the path invites you to rest and even grill (by prior arrangement) over

Riedingtal Nature Park in Zederhaus
Due to its absolutely enchanting countryside, Riedingtal Valley is a
popular excursion destination for young and old. The natural features
and glorious scenery of this area on the edge of the Radstädter Tauern
range are simply astonishing.

Göriach Hut Village
An Alpine village that is unique, one which you can easily reach
whether you are a senior citizen or pushing a pram. From the last car
park, you are barely a 5-minute walk away (a total of 9 huts, 1 of which
serves refreshments).

Preber Sports & Recreation Region
Located not far from Tamsweg and easy to reach is the Preber Region,
one of the most popular excursions for locals and visitors alike, whether
that be hiking, biking, or taking a romantic stroll around the lake and
stopping at one of the huts along the way.

Nockberge Region –
Schönfeld/Karneralm
In contrast to the rugged peaks of the Niedere Tauern, the gently
rounded hilltops of the Nockberge seemingly snuggle into their natural
setting. Experience a high valley in all of its glory. Discover utter peace
in the middle of a sun-drenched alpine meadow.

Muhr – the “National Park Village”
The beauty and diversity of the mountainous countryside of the Hohe
Tauern National Park is the main reason it belongs to the largest national
park in Central Europe. The Mur – Austria’s second-largest river – has its
headwaters in this community. And it is from there that the annual “Tour
de Mur” bike race sets out every year.
