Established in 1996, this fund is to be<br />
used for financial aid for minority and/or<br />

John and Archontoula Bucuvalas<br />
Scholarship Fund<br />
Established in 1998 by Michael Bucuvalas<br />
’66 and his wife Martha, this fund<br />
provides financial aid for talented and<br />
deserving students, with a preference<br />
for students from the Somerville Public<br />
Schools.<br />

’65 in memory of her husband, this fund<br />

Aid Fund<br />
Established in 2004 by John Fitzpatrick<br />
’73 and Jan Fitzpatrick, this fund supports<br />
BB&N’s financial aid program with a<br />
preference for a scholar-athlete from a<br />
diverse ethnic background.<br />

Scholarship Fund<br />
Established by Mr. and Mrs. Dennis<br />
E. Johnson P’82 in memory of their<br />
daughter, Annette D. Johnson ’82, this<br />
fund provides general support for BB&N’s<br />

Christopher James Kern Scholar-<br />
ship Fund<br />
Established in 2001 by family and friends<br />
in memory of Christopher Kern ’99, this<br />
fund provides financial aid to an Upper<br />

Established by the Levy family in 1994,<br />
this fund supports international travel<br />
opportunities for talented students with<br />

E. Vincent Merry Fund<br />
Named in memory of E. Vincent Merry,<br />
husband of BB&N former trustee Karan<br />
A. Merry P’86, ’91, this fund was established<br />
in 1980 and provides financial<br />
assistance for academic or special programs<br />
for minority students and faculty.<br />
Lawrence J. and Anne Cable<br />
Rubenstein Scholarship Fund<br />
Established in 1997 by the Cable family<br />
and the Lawrence J. and Anne Cable<br />
Rubenstein Foundation, this fund provides<br />
financial aid support to less advantaged<br />
children in the Boston area.<br />
Steppingstone-to-Opportunity<br />
Fund<br />
Originally established in 1997 by John<br />
Simon ’80 and his wife Susan, this fund<br />
supports BB&N’s financial aid program<br />
with a preference for 7th and 8th grade<br />
students from the Steppingstone Program.<br />
Funds may also be allocated to other<br />
students with demonstrated financial<br />
need in grades nine through twelve, with<br />
preference given to former Steppingstone<br />
students.<br />
Craig B. Stonestreet Fund<br />
Established in 1991 by family and<br />
friends in memory of Craig B. Stonestreet,<br />
<strong>Browne</strong> & <strong>Nichols</strong> Class of 1949 and<br />
former Director of the Upper School,<br />
income from this fund is used to provide<br />
financial aid to deserving Upper School<br />
scholar-athletes. The Fund also provides<br />
an annual prize to a member of the junior<br />
class in recognition of high scholarship,<br />
excellence in athletics, and constructive<br />
influence within the School.<br />
The Thompson Foster Street<br />
Foundation Fund<br />
Established in 2004 by David J.<br />
Thompson ‘85 and Elizabeth Thompson,<br />
this fund supports BB&N’s financial aid<br />
program with a preference for a scholarathlete<br />
from a diverse ethnic background.<br />
Alexandra and Ben Trustman<br />
Financial Aid Fund<br />
Established in 2001 by a BB&N<br />
grandparent in honor of her two BB&N<br />
grandchildren, this fund is used to support<br />
the general financial aid program<br />
with a strong preference for assisting an<br />
African-American student and a slight<br />
preference for a Lower School African-<br />
American student.<br />
The Mildred and Clarence<br />
Williams Financial Aid Fund<br />
Established in 2007 by Clarence G. Williams,<br />
Jr. ’85 and his wife Joanne Taylor,<br />
the Mildred and Clarence Williams Fund<br />
is named in honor of Clarence’s parents.<br />
The Fund is to be used to support the<br />
general financial aid program of BB&N<br />
with a preference for supporting an Upper<br />
School inner city student of color and<br />
preferably a student who entered BB&N<br />
in the Lower or Middle School.<br />
ACADEMIC PROGRAMS<br />
Asian Studies Endowment Fund<br />
Established in 1999, this fund supports<br />
faculty salaries and program expenses<br />
related to the Chinese or other Asian<br />
language studies program.<br />
Maureen Baker Lower School<br />
Language Arts Fund<br />
Established in 2004 by a group of Lower<br />
School parents to honor Maureen Baker,<br />
a Lower School teacher at The <strong>Buckingham</strong><br />
School and BB&N from 1964<br />
to 2004, the Baker Fund supports the<br />
Lower School language arts program with<br />
a preference for Morse Building (Beginner,<br />
Kindergarten, and Grade 1) students.<br />
Uses for the fund include support for a<br />
poet-in-residence, a visiting author or illustrator<br />
specializing in writing for younger<br />
students, or professional development<br />
in the language arts for Morse Building<br />
faculty.<br />
Larry Cabot Fund for Girls’ Crew<br />
Established in 2000 in honor of long-time<br />
faculty member and girls’ crew coach<br />
Larry Cabot, this fund supports the program<br />
expenses of the girls’ crew program.<br />
Class of 1987 Audio Visual Fund<br />
Established in honor of the graduating<br />
students in the Class of 1987, this fund is<br />
used to support current and future needs<br />
of the audiovisual program at the Upper<br />
School.<br />
Class of 1988 International Fund<br />
Established in honor of graduating<br />
students in the Class of 1988, this fund<br />
supports international education at BB&N<br />
by providing study and travel opportunities<br />
for students and faculty; curriculum<br />
expansion in international studies,<br />
including foreign languages; or bringing<br />
internationally renowned speakers to the<br />
School.<br />
Class of 1989 Art Fund<br />
Established in honor of graduating<br />
students in the Class of 1989, this fund<br />
supports all aspects of the art program<br />
at BB&N and may be used for faculty<br />
enrichment, visiting artists, speakers, curriculum<br />
development, cultural activities,<br />
travel, or special equipment.<br />
Class of 1990 Science Fund<br />
Established in honor of graduating students<br />
in the Class of 1990, this fund supports<br />
the teaching of science at BB&N.<br />
