Sanger trailed 27-22 at halftime,

18-9 in the third. Most of 

the points came near the end 

of the third period. Decatur 

took the lead back midway 

through the fourth quarter 

and Sanger went on another 

run, forced by Decatur 

turnovers to seal the win. 

The Lady Indians had to be 

careful with Decatur in the 

double-bonus, but pulled 

off some more steals during 

that stretch. After Sanger 

built a five point lead, the 

Lady Indians pulled off. 

Sanger’s been snake bit 

in 2012-2013. They lost 

three returning starters to 

season-ending knee injuries. 

They all started as 

freshman, but didn’t get to 

complete their sophomore 

seasons. But, all three- Morgan 

Turkoly, Kierstin Bradley 

and Brittany Donelson 

seemed more excited than 

the players after the final

Raylyn Stenger was born a beautiful and 

healthy little girl on October 22nd, 2012. By 

December 17th, she fell ill with a virus and 

was rushed to Cooks Childrens Hospital. By 

January 2nd, her family was meeting with a 

Heart Transplant Team at Children's Medical 

Center Dallas. In spite of good insurance, the 

families out-of-pocket expenses will be substantial. Family, friends, and even strangers 

are pulling together to assist the family in any way possible. 

A benefit concert, The First Annual Ray Rock, has been scheduled for February 9th, 

2013, and all proceeds will go towards Raylyn's new heart. Scooters Tavern has graciously 

offered their facilities free of charge for the entire day. So far at least eight local bands 

have volunteered to play, local vendors are offering to prepare smoked briskets for sale 

or auction, local companies are offering goods and/or services for auction, and a 

professional auctioneer has offered their services as well. 

We are in need of monetary donations, additional goods or services for auction, and as 

much publicity as possible. Any and all help is deeply appreciated. I am including links

Joe Howard Hanna 

Joe Howard Hanna, 88, of McAlester, OK, died Thursday, 

January 31, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton. 

Mr. Hanna was born on October 27, 1924 in Wagoner, OK 

to Joe E. and Clara (Walker) Hanna. He was a Baptist and 

a truck driver for many years. He was 

married to Billylu Morrow on June 

28, 1945 in Sanger, she died on June 

6, 1977; he then married Joy Mildred 

Whitlock on November 15, 1978 in 

Raymondville, she died on September 

12, 2005; he then married Donna 

Trosper Raleigh on May 13, 2006 in 

McAlester, OK. 

He is survived by his wife Donna 

Hanna of McAlester, OK; daughters, 

Helen Giese and her husband Glen 

of Sanger, Jo Ann Powell and her 

husband Tony of Fruitvale, Roma Roberts and her husband 

Richard of Longview; stepdaughter, Glenda Sanders of 

McAlester, OK; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 

4, 2013 in the chapel of Mulkey Mason, Jack Schmitz 

and Son Funeral Home, Denton, TX. Rev. Sam Redfearn 

officiated the service. Interment followed at Sanger Cemetery. 

Pallbearers were Chris Sunnenberg, Arnold Cisneros, 

III, Derrick Roberts, Chad Giese, Jay Moussa, David Roberts, 

and Danny Cisneros.

Texas Elks Camp for 

special needs children 

Applications are now available for the 2013 Texas Elks 

camp for children with special needs. 

Any child with a special need, between the ages of 7 

and 15, who is a resident of the state of Texas is eligible for 

admission to Texas Elks Camp. An admissions committee 

thoroughly reviews each application. No child is denied acceptance 

on the basis of his or her income level, ethnic origin, 

race, creed, color or religion. There is no fee or charges. 

Campers are accepted on a “first-come, first-served” basis. 

Camps run for a one week duration starting June 16 

with the 7th camp scheduled for August 4. Contact Lake 

Ray Roberts Area Elks Lodge #2862 at 940-458-2862 or 

940-367-4382 for an application or a detailed brochure. Interested 

parents can also contact the Texas Elks Children 

Services at 830-875-2425. 

Texas Elks Camp provides special needs children with 

an opportunity to try new things and to make new friends. 

Campers are encouraged to make their own decisions and 

become more independent. The final results are an improved 

self-esteem and a willingness to accept new challenges. 

Parents often notice dramatic positive changes after 

only one week at camp. 

Texas Elks Camp is located in the heart of Texas on 

eight rural acres between Luling and Gonzales. Campers 

live within the 18,000 square foot air conditioned building, 

which is totally accessible for all handicapping conditions. 

All staff members at Texas Elks Camp are trained in 

First Aid and CPR. A licensed nurse and/or a counselor 

trained in emergency medical procedures is with the campers 

at all times and the camper to counselor ratio is an excellent 

3 to 1. 

Our dear Wife, Mother and Grandmother went home 

to be with her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, January 27, 

2013 at the age of 81. She was born June 29, 1931 northwest 

of Sanger near Bolivar, Texas. Charlene attended Ponder 

schools and graduated from Ponder High School in 1949. 

After high school she moved to Fort Worth and attended 

Bible Baptist Seminary. 

She met Thomas Richards at a Billy Graham crusade at 

the Fort Worth coliseum in 1951. Feeling that God had put 

them together, they wasted no time and were married later 

that year on July 29, 1951. God blessed their union with a 

son on May 30, 1953 and a daughter on October 6, 1959. 

Charlene is survived by her husband Tom, of 61 years; 

son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Christina Richards 

of Denton, TX; daughter, Paula Johnston of Kennedale, 

TX; sisters, Jo Gossett and husband Ed of Houston, TX, 

Faye Hughes of Denton, TX, Berta Farr of Dallas, TX, and 

Joyce Lynch of Aubrey, TX; brother, C.L. Yeatts and wife 

Nancy of Denton, TX; eight grandchildren, Rachel Moore 

and husband Timothy of Denton, Naomi Webb and husband 

Kane of Watson, OK, Jeremiah Richards and wife

Texas Woman’s University has released its dean’s and 

chancellor’s lists for the Fall 2012 semester. 

Undergraduate students who complete at least 12 graded 

credit hours and achieve at least a 3.5 grade point average 

are eligible for the dean’s list. 

Those students who have achieved a 4.0 grade point average 

are named to the chancellor’s list and are indicated

TWU to visit NCTC to 

help with admissions 

North Central Texas College students will have a 

chance to “TEAM” up with admission counselors from 

Texas Woman’s University in the month of February. 

Transfer Enrollment Admissions Meetings (TEAM) 

are scheduled at both the NCTC Corinth and Gainesville 

campuses. TWU admissionspersonnel will be in the 

Corinth campus lobby on Feb. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m., and in 

the Gainesville Activity Center on Feb. 19 from 10 a.m. to 

3 p.m. 

NCTC students will be able to apply for admission to 

TWU for Summer and Fall 2013 at these events. They will 

also have their application reviewed on site to ensure completeness. 

Students can also meet with admission counselors 

and have transcripts unofficially evaluated. They will be 

able to learn about career opportunities, housing and student 

life/leadership organizations. 

In addition, this special visit will allow students to meet 

the March 15 deadline for transfer scholarships and financial 

aid. 

NCTC students applying for admission to TWU at theseevents 

will receive a $50 application fee award as well. 

Students must have all official transcripts from colleges and 

universities previously attended to receive this award.

Three graduates from Sanger 

Tarleton State University’s fall commencement was 

held Dec. 15, 2012 at Tarleton’s Wisdom Gymnasium. The 

following candidates have satisfactorily met the university’s 

requirements for their individual degree programs and have 

been awarded their diplomas. 

Honor designations for undergraduate degrees are: 

Summa Cum Laude (Highest Honors), Magna Cum Laude 

(High Honors) and Cum Laude (Honors). 

Lauren Hinojosa of Sanger graduated from Tarleton 

State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ag 

Services and Development from the university’s Stephenville 

campus. 

Samantha Deluna of Sanger graduated from Tarleton 

State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration 

degree in Interdisciplinary Business from the university’s 

Stephenville campus. 

Trent Tipton of Sanger graduated from Tarleton State 

University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management 

from the university’s Stephenville campus. 

Founded in 1899, Tarleton is one of the fastest growing 

institutions of higher learning in Texas. Just one hour from 

Fort Worth, Tarleton serves as the educational and cultural 

flagship of the Cross Timbers Region. It is located in Stephenville, 

which is included in Norman Crampton’s “The 

100 Best Small Towns in America” published by Prentice 

Hall. 

Tarleton releases Distinguished Students’ List 

Tarleton State University has released the Distinguished 

Students list for the fall 2012 semester. Students on 

the list include freshman and sophomore students who have 

a minimum 3.25 grade point ratio (GPR) and no grade lower 

than a ‘C,’ and juniors and seniors who have a minimum 

3.5 GPR with no grade lower than a ‘C.’ All must be in good 

standing with the university.

Hinojosa make A Honor Roll List 

Lauren Hinojosa Sanger of News Sanger Header 1 was recently named to Tarleton 

State University’s A Honor Roll List for the fall 2012 

semester at the university’s Stephenville campus. Hinojosa 

is majoring in Ag Services and Development.

Chicken Chilly 

When the weather 

turned cooler, I brought home 

three bales of fluffy, dry straw 

for our flock. I covered the 

coop floor with it to help insulate 

them from the chilly 

temperatures and stepped 

back for the hens to check it 

out. Oh to speak chicken and 

hear what they were saying 

to one another! Lily went in 

first and began clucking and 

moving the straw around to 

create perfect hen-shei then 

Hedwig ran in as fast as her 

toothpick legs would carry 

her to gripe about how that 

nest was NOT going in that 

corner. Anna, the largest and 

heaviest breasted hen, bolstered 

through the coop door, 

knocking poor blind Adaline 

to the wayside, and raised her 

voice to high heaven, screeching 

and clucking a tune so 

scary the other girls dropped 

the straw from their beaks and 

bolted for the door. The coop 

is now arranged to Anna’s liking 

and Anna’s liking only. 

Winter weather has arrived 

here in Sanger. For 

the most part, that means 

cold, wind, and rain...two of 

which chickens aren’t fond 

of. Chickens aren’t their happiest 

in rainy, windy weather. 

Surprisingly, they can tolerate 

winter temperatures better 

than sweltering summer heat 

if given the proper care. 

Your backyard chickens 

naturally prepare themselves 

for winter. Hens decrease 

their egg laying during the 

winter months to conserve 

energy needed to keep their 

little bodies warm. They also 

eat more to replenish the lost 

calories spent on maintaining 

that warmth. Chickens wear a 

winter down coat made up of 

about 8,500 feathers of which 

they molt and renew in preparation 

for the cold months. 

That said, there are some 

things you can do as a responsible 

chicken owner to help 

your flock stay healthy and 

happy in the winter weather. 

The following tips are for 

adult birds. Chicks and adolescents 

without all their adult 

feathers should be fed and 

sheltered differently.

Chickens need a draft-free 

shelter where they can seek 

refuge from snow, icy rain, 

wind, and biting cold temps. 

I simply staple trash bags over 

our coop windows during 

the winter to keep the wind 

out. Insulating straw, hay, or 

wood shavings lining the floor 

and nest boxes help keep the 

cold air out and warm air produced 

by your birds in. Roosts 

that are two inches or more 

in width are ideal in winter 

to keep your chickens toes 

warm. If roosts are too narrow, 

their toes wrap around 

the roost and are not covered 

by their warm breast. This can 

lead to frostbitten toes. Keep 

your chicken shelter clean and 

dry. Moisture from chicken 

poop in your coop increases 

the risk of frostbite. Slathering

their combs, wattles, and toes

Predators are more likely 

to attack your flock in the 

winter months due to lack of 

other food supply. Raccoons 

are especially a problem here 

in North Texas. Raccoon fingers 

can open simple hook 

and eye latches, loose boards 

and shingles, and can take out 

your whole flock in one night. 

Inspect your coop and chicken 

yard to make sure your 

poultry are safe from prying 

fingers and digging paws 

and remember hungry predators 

are persistent. For added 

security there are products 

available to ward off nocturnal 

animals such as raccoons, 

owls, coyotes, rats, feral cats 

and opossums. These devices 

use motion activated lights 

that blink on and off when a 

predator ventures near. This 

simple device often scares 

away the animal permanently. 

Many experts say a heat 

lamp or heater is not necessary 

in winter for several reasons. 

Adding heat near hay, 

straw, and litter can be a fire 

hazard. Your chickens may 

get used to the warmth provided 

them and will not be 

able to regulate their internal 

temperatures in case of 

a power outage. I made the 

decision to use a small space 

heater with various heat settings 

that shuts off if turned 

over or if it gets too hot. I sat 

it inside a laundry basket to 

keep it away from the straw 

and wood shavings. Some 

mornings, our slim girls that 

are bred to be heat tolerant 

not cold tolerant are snuggled 

right up against the side of the 

basket.

BEAUTIFUL YOU 


“Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart” 

On February 1st, 12 girls from Sanger High FCCLA went to Butterfield 

Elementary School to open the eyes of young ones through a 

series of activities. This program is called Beautiful You. The focus 

of Beautiful You is to get young girls to realize that they are all 

beautiful from within and what they do and how they treat others 

makes them all the more beautiful. From shouting “I am beautiful!!” 

to throwing negative stigma away together, both groups of girls had 

much to take away from the experience. One parent said that Beautiful 

You showed her daughter that “others are going through some 

of the same things, and that she is not alone.” Following the lead of 

former FCCLA members that began the program in 2010, this year’s 

event was organized by high schoolers Deama Khader and Kaitlin 

Ponder. They are compiling a Project Service Scrapbook to compete 

in an FCCLA STAR event on February 15th in Waco. They also plan to 

share the program with other interested schools. Other Sanger High 

School students that helped with the Beautiful You program: Taylor 

Arispe, Katlyn Harbin, Bryce Perry, Katrina Youngblood, Stacey 

Collier, Chloe Howard, Kacee Evans, Caitlin Sunnenberg, Morgan 

Turkoly, Paige Scribner, and Aubrey Malone.

SHS BASKETBALL 


Indians make playoffs, end district on Tuesday against Gainesville 

The Indians clinched a playoff berth with their 64-58 victory 

over Bridgeport on Friday. Gainesville is primed to win the District 

Championship, despite a slip up against Krum last Friday. 

Decatur is on pace to finish as the runner-up and Sanger will 

finish third. But, Gainesville still has to play Decatur on the 

road. Gainesville had to comeback from a halftime deficit to the 

Eagles in the first meeting. 

Sanger has a bye this Friday and finishes against Gainesville 

on Tuesday at SHS. 

The Indians lost to Decatur on Tuesday 61-43 and is 4-3 in 

district. Wilding Smith led Sanger with 15 points. Sanger is 15- 

15 overall. 

Against Bridgeport, Jake Stastny and Brennan Bloom led 

Ssnger with 14 points each. Drew Lyons chipped in 11. Others 

scoring for Sanger - Tanner Thomas 8, Tyler Roelofs 4, Joe

The Sanger Police Department responded to the following 

calls for service during the period of January 21-27, 2013. 

Monday, January 21 

- 100 blk Marshall - noise complaint 

- 1200 blk Stemmons - suspicious vehicle at location. Subjects advised 

they were looking to lease the building. 

- 100 blk Freese - report of light left on in building; possible suspicious 

activity. Officer checked building. 

- 300 blk Deer Run - suspicious vehicle. Subject advised he was 

not allowed to smoke in the residence. 

- 2500 blk Santa Fe - alarm/residence. Alarm code entered incorrectly. 

- Willow - complainant stated his girlfriend’s stepdad hit her after 

an argument. Officer spoke to girlfriend, who stated her stepdad 

hit her by accident during an argument and stated that all three 

parties were arguing. Parties did not want to file charges. 

- 2500 blk Santa Fe - complainant stated sometime last night an 

unknown subject drove in his front yard and ran over his oak tree. 

Complainant stated he looked down the road and a neighborhood 

home has a car with damage and bark laying on the road by it. Officer 

took pictures and looked at damage to vehicle. Complainant 

wants neighbors to replace the tree and fix the yard or charges will 

be pressed. Subject agreed to replace tree. 

- 2000 blk Brook - complainant stated a vicious Lab mix was 

growling and barking at people and was in the trash at a neighbor’s 

home for over an hour. Complainant shot the dog with an airsoft 

gun when it entered the yard. 

- 300 blk Acker - complainant stated he paid mechanic $7,000 to 

repair his boat and the mechanic has moved. Complainant has no 

way to locate him. 

- 600 blk 5th - complainant stated her boyfriend dropped her off 

at work and did not return to pick her up and isn’t answering her 

phone calls. Complainant stated he has never done this before. 

Complainant referred to Denton PD since work location is in Denton. 

- Bolivar St - complainant stated someone took his bike from park 

area. Bike later located at the caller’s residence. His older brother 

saw the bike and took it home. 

Tuesday, January 22 

- 700 blk N Stemmons - suspicious vehicle 

- Elm @ 3rd - suspicious person. Subject advised he was walking 

to his parents residence. 

- 700 blk Stemmons - suspicious vehicle. Subjects were resting on 

their way back from casino. 

- Keaton overpass - 18-wheeler blocking lanes. Truck towed. 

- I-35 @ 478 - complainant claimed that someone shot at vehicle. 

Officer stopped vehicle at McReynolds @ Ranger Creek. Officer 

located .380 pistol under seat that had not been recently fired. Two 

small babies were in the car seat, calm and happy. After speaking 

with both parties, both agreed there may have been some mutual 

road rage (following each other). They believed road debris struck 

the vehicle, making the complainant think he had been shot. Subject 

released. No offense. 

- 200 blk Chapman - officer was waved down regarding a suspicious 

pickup at storage units. Officer located vehicle. Subject has 

unit on property. 

- Primrose @ Eider - officer checked suspicious vehicle occupied 

by two subjects. Male subject advised he and his girlfriend were 

talking. Officer called parents of both subjects. Male did not have 

a driver’s license. 

- Southside Dr - officer spoke with complainant who advised her 

18-year-old daughter had taken off with her car without permission. 

Upon investigation, it was found that the vehicle was normally 

used by the daughter and complainant was just concerned about 

her. 

- 500 blk Stemmons - report that subject walked behind the counter 

and began messing with things. Employees advised the actor 

was behind the counter for approximately four minutes and took 

a food item away from an employee, gave it to the drive-thru customer 

and then threatened to assault the customer. The employee 

then ordered him to walk out from behind the counter. Actor left 

the scene. 

- I-35 @ 477 - motorist assist. Complainant ran out of gas. 

- Pintail Ln - complainant stated someone shot his mailbox with a 

BB gun.

- 600 blk Stemmons - report of cat stuck in play area. ACO unable 

to locate the cat. 

- 1400 blk Stemmons - suspicious vehicle parked between units. 

Subject advised he was drinking a couple of beers. Officer administered 

SFST. Subject was released with citation. 

- 200 blk Fourth - alarm. 

- Keaton @ Parma - juvenile complaint. Report of kids playing in 

the ditch. 

- 5th @ FM 455 - motorist assist. 

- I-35 @ 476 - welfare concern. Report of man picking up trash on 

roadside. 

- 800 blk Stemmons - suspicious vehicle parked by car wash bay 

all day. 

- 800 blk Keaton - complainant was missing a chocolate Lab. Officer 

advised no dog calls had been taken that day. 

- Southpark - verbal disturbance between husband and wife. Husband 

gathered his belongings and voluntarily left. 

- 4000 blk Park - complainant advised he was going door-to-door 

selling newspapers and a resident at one location pulled a knife on 

him. Officer collected statements from all parties. 

- Marshall @ 5th - report of dog at large. 

- 300 blk Acker - pick up stray dog. 

- 13000 blk Stemmons - third party called in advising that subject 

was having chest pains and needed medical assistance. Sanger 

EMS located subject, who refused medical assistance. 

- 700 blk Stemmons - suspicious vehicle. 

- Diane Dr - complainant advised a dog behind his yard was being 

aggressive. 

Thursday, January 24 

- Denton @ Willow - suspicious person. 

- 800 blk Keaton - suspicious vehicle sitting just off roadway. 

- 1st St - suspicious vehicle sitting on road side. 

- I-35 @ 481 - provide traffic control for SFD during grass fire. 

- Service Road - suspicious vehicle with hazards on. Vehicle unlocked. 

Male subject then arrived with gas can. 

- 800 blk Keaton - traffic stop. Two warnings issued. 

- 700 blk 5th - traffic stop. Warning issued. 

- Loop 138 - traffic stop. Warning issued. 

- 5th St - complainant believes a subject that lives on Marshall 

hit his vehicle in an accident earlier this month. Officer attempted 

contact. 

- Elm @ 5th - traffic stop. Warning issued. 

- 300 blk Bolivar - complainant stated he needed to retrieve his 

belongings. Address was in county. 

- 500 blk Bolivar - underage kids smoking cigarettes. Citations issued. 

Three juveniles trespassed. 

- 200 blk 4th - alarm. Owner accidentally set off alarm. 

- 5th @ Willow - traffic stop. Warning issued. 

- 11500 blk Marion - assist SFD with medical call. 

- Sanger - complainant stated her sister posted on Facebook that 

she was tired of everything and said goodbye to her family. She left 

two days ago and hasn’t been home since. She posted Facebook 

post two hours ago. People have tried to call and she won’t answer. 

DCSO put out a suicidal welfare check. 

- 3rd St - report that daughter was walking home from school 

from band practice with a friend and had not made it home. No 

answer on phone. Father’s girlfriend had spoken with the juvenile 

and advised her that her mother was looking for her, to which the 

daughter replied that she knew. Officer tried to call her several 

times and she did not answer. 

- 5th @ Bolivar - officer located juvenile from previous missing 

persons call. Took her home and released to parent. 

- S Keaton - a Denton hospital advised that they have a male patient 

that had been assaulted and claims he was jumped by three 

men and that it occurred by a church on S. Keaton or the catwalk. 

Officer spoke with patient, who did not remember much and was 

in a lot of pain. Patient to remain in ICU. Officer took pictures and 

a statement from the mother. 

Friday, January 25 

- 5th @ Houston - report of several juveniles walking, with two 

running out in front of vehicles. Officer located juveniles, who admitted 

to the act. Juveniles were sent home. 

- Elm - report of motorcycle with loud pipes continuously driving 

by complainant’s residence. Complainant advised their infant is 

being woken up. 

- I-35 @ Milam - assist Valley View PD with possible stolen arms 

traffickers. 

- FM 455 - suicidal subject. Subject was found locked in a garage 

with the engine running, then left residence in a SUV. Officers 

checked locations before being able to ping her cell phone near 

Denton. 

- S Keaton @ 5th - suspicious vehicle with door open. Officer secured 

vehicle. 

- FM 2450 @ FM 455 - suspicious vehicle. 

- 1150 blk Exchange - assist Sanger EMS on medical call. 

- 400 blk 1st - noise complaint. 

- 1400 blk Mandrain - report that group of boys were ‘ding dong 

ditching’ and got scared that someone was chasing them so they 

hid in complainant’s yard. Complainant believed the group was 

stealing gas or vandalizing and gave chase. Officer spoke with the 

group of boys.

popped one or two fireworks every few nights. 

- Palomino - disturbance. Both subjects highly intoxicated. Female 

was very emotional, refused to obey commands, and attempted to 

leave. Subject attempted to resist when she was placed under arrest. 

Male attempted to interfere/resist and was also placed under 

arrest. 

- 5th @ Keaton - single vehicle hit guard rail. Driver arrested for 

DWI. 

- 900 blk 5th - report of suspicious person wearing dark clothes 

and a hoodie walking with head down carrying a bag. Officer 

made contact with subject. Subject arrested for possession of narcotics. 

Saturday, January 26 

- 1100 blk Austin - complainant advised his ex-girlfriend refused 

to let him in to gather his belongings. 

- Perry @ Parker - officer checked vehicle seen driving slowly 

through neighborhood. Subject advised he was trying to find 

friend’s house. Officer checked subject, who had warrants out for 

vehicle theft. Subject arrested. 

- I-35 @ 485 - reckless driver. 

- Plum St - report of male walking along street screaming at no 

one. Officer located subject and spoke with him. 

- I-35 @ 482 - reckless driver. Officer stopped vehicle. Consensual 

search revealed no contraband. Citations issued. 

- Station - complainant stated her cousin left their residence and 

has not returned and was not answering calls. Officer called missing 

person’s phone and made contact with her. Subject stated she 

fell asleep at a friend’s house. 

- I-35 @ 477 - report of a puppy in the roadway at location. 

- Clear Creek bridge - complainant stated a SUV was parked under 

the bridge. Officer made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. 

After a check through dispatch, the officer was informed the 

male subject had several warrants out from Denton PD. Subject 

was arrested. 

- 500 blk Bolivar - complainant stated several juveniles were 

standing in the roadway and refused to move. Complainant stated 

he asked them to move out of the roadway so they would not be 

struck by a vehicle, and one juvenile male kicked the complainant’s 

vehicle. Officer located the juveniles. 

- 120 blk Eider - complainant wanted to know if his cat had been 

picked up by ACO. 

- Berry St - couple arguing over child custody issues. Verbal disturbance 

only. 

- 11500 blk Marion - complainant wanted to know about leash 

laws in Sanger. 

- 800 blk Plum - complainant stated a neighbor had placed 

hand-written signs on the front door with vulgar language. Officer 

removed the signs. Unable to make contact at that time with the 

tenant. 

Sunday, January 27 

- 1200 blk Elm - complainant stated two small brown dogs are in 

the area tearing up trash from garbage cans. 

- Chapman @ First - complainant stated several juveniles were 

playing on the railroad tracks. 

- 4000 blk Windmill - complainant stated juveniles were climbing 

on her mailbox and stop signs in the area. 

- 5th St - officer served court summons. 

- Austin St - suspicious activity. Report of subject running in between 

two houses. 

- 500 blk Stemmons - officer took report of stolen wallet from local 

business. 

- I-35 @ 483 - reckless driver. Officer located vehicle. Driver not 

intoxicated. 

- Eider Dr - report of two infants left at home alone. Officer spoke 

with father, who was at home with the children. 

- 11500 blk Marion - report of female screaming. Complainant 

was concerned for the childrens safety. Officer attempted to make 

contact with subject but she refused to answer the door. Eventually 

she answered and stated her boyfriend was gone. Officer checked 

on the children who were asleep in bed. Sanger EMS checked the 

well-being of the female. Subject’s mother agreed to stay the night. 

- 10 blk Highland - complainant advised someone took vehicle 

parts off his trailer parked in his driveway. 

- Pecan St - disturbance. Complainant and boyfriend extremely 

intoxicated and complainant was knocked out. Subjects checked 

by medics and picked up by relatives. 

- Wayne @ 5th - traffic stop. Consensual search revealed bag with 

marijuana stem and residence. Citation issued for possession of 

drug paraphernalia. Arrest then made. Vehicle released to family 

member. 

- 800 blk Service Road - traffic stop. Passenger received warning 

for littering. 

- I-35 @ 483 - reckless driver. Driver not intoxicated. 

- 900 blk Stemmons - alarm. Officer checked building.
