MUSIC MATTERSStudent Music Concert – Thursday 15 NovemberNext week we are holding the “Elecve Music Concert” in Room 68 at 5:30pm. While it has beentradionally called the “Elecve Music Concert”, it really is for any student in the school to play with theirband, sing in a group or put together a musical item of some descripon. The idea of this concert is toallow students to get together in groups and have lots of fun performing music. As such, this is not avenue for solo performance. The sign‐up sheet is in the Music Centre foyer and we encourage studentsfrom all over the school to perform.IMEB Speech and Drama Examinaon resultsCongratulaons to the all the students who sat their Speech and Drama examinaon last week. They alldid an excellent job and thank you to Mrs Callaughan for her connued excellence in teaching. Thirteen secondary schoolensembles performed to a very high standard with some featuring soloists. Joshua Cheney sang abeauful solo with Chamber Choir, Isabella Gaudiosi performed her debut solo with Senior SaxophoneEnsemble, Sam Brand, Daniel Moxey and Logan Birchall rocked it out with solos in Stage Band and CeceliaCarter was a star aracon as clarinet soloist with our KWS Orchestra performing the Weber ClarinetConcerto. Cecelia wore a gorgeous, red dress, which flowed in the breeze coming from the side doors asshe played. Thank you so very much to Mrs Young for organising the Cadet display for the opening of theFesval and thank you also to the Friends of Music who provided refreshments at interval and worked onfundraising for our future purchase of tubular bells and a new PA system. My biggest thank you must goto the wonderful Music Staff. They have all worked so hard with their ensembles and are so dedicated toachieving the highest standard possible, always with a big smile on their faces. I am privileged to workwith such fantasc staff.Grandparent’s Day – Friday 2 NovemberOur Grandparent’s Day Concert was very special this year. Mrs Sinclair, Acng Co‐ordinator of PrepMusic, did a fabulous job of organizing the event and the standard of her choirs was excellent. All thesoloists performed in such a professional manner.
