OVERCOMING CONFUSION65tionary death was a completed or final atonement then Christ’s resurrectionwould have not been essential for man’s salvation. And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, andyour faith is also vain. 1 Corinthians 15:14.For Christ’s blood to atone, it had to be applied as well as shed.Prior to His death on the cross, it had been applied and atonementmade only by faith.
