TIL TALKCDI & Traininggreat value differentiatorsWe at TIPL firmly believe that an operator plays an importantrole in enhancing profitability through efficient machineoperations and controls. In line with this belief and toprovide better return on our customers’ investments, wehave recruited 8 operator trainers and developed themto Caterpillar Certified Dealer Instructors (CDI). Aftermonths of rigorous training on various machines, theoperator trainers were certified by Bill Pittenger, TeamLeader, TTS - Caterpillar in April, 2010.Over the years we have successfully marketed the Operator Bill Pittenger - Caterpillar and G Sivaramakrishnan along withTIPL Operator Trainers at the CDI ceremonyTraining and CDI <strong>as</strong> great value differentiators for customers.The Operator Training is offered with every new machine sale and also for the existing fleet b<strong>as</strong>ed on customer request.After about 3-6 months of training, our representative revisits the customer to <strong>as</strong>ses the benefits in terms of productivity,machine availability and reliability, parts consumption, fuel efficiency, operator motivation level etc. L<strong>as</strong>t year, we successfullyconducted operator trainings for 1753 operators belonging to 481 customers. The extended enterprise benefit of conductingOperator Training through CDIs ranges from gaining competitive edge to lower warranty cost.The customer feedback received so far h<strong>as</strong> been very encouraging and the result of this great endeavor shows improvementin customers’ machine utilization, productivity and fuel consumption. There are also instances where customer h<strong>as</strong> placedrepeat orders for machines after our operator trainers were successful in establishing better value for Caterpillar machines.While in the p<strong>as</strong>t customers were not ready to pay for services like this, now with the benefits clearly witnessed by them,they are not only willing to go in for the trainings that are chargeable but there are instances of repeat trainings <strong>as</strong> well.<strong>Our</strong> two long term contracts - one with Hindustan Zinc Ltd., and the other with Hindustan Construction Company Ltd.(HCC), bear testament to this fact.Hindustan Zinc Ltd h<strong>as</strong> awarded a contract to TIPL for training 150 of their Off-Highway Truck Operators. The practicaltraining focuses on Truck Loading, Haul-road Operation, Braking System, Reversing & Dumping. The M<strong>as</strong>ter OperatorTrainer from TIPL h<strong>as</strong> already completed training of 86 operators of HZL who can now be rated <strong>as</strong> Level-II category ofoperators.HCC, another major player in the construction sector, h<strong>as</strong> awardeda contract to TIPL for carrying out Operator & Maintenance Trainingon Dozers, Loaders & Gensets.
