ENHANCING DAIRY SECTOR EXPORT COMPETITIVENESS IN PAKISTANii.iii.iv.An import approval recommendation from the Ministry of Agriculture is required in addition to animport permit (SPP) from the Ministry of <strong>Trade</strong> and from BPOM for food products containinganimal-based ingredientsFood labels in the form of supplementary label are to be in the Indonesian language and must beeasily understood by consumers.Labelling requirements: Product name, weight or volume in metric units, composition or a list ofingredients, use by date, production code, BPOM registration number, and the name and addressof the manufacturer or importer. Any person producing or importing food which is packed for sale(not institutional packed for the food service <strong>sector</strong>) into the territory of Indonesia is obligated toplace a label on, within and or at the packing of the food.v. An Import Permit (SPP), issued by the Ministry of <strong>Trade</strong>, must accompany every import of poultry,meat, and other animal based food. The SPP will be issued after getting the ImportRecommendation Approval (RPP) from the Ministry of Agriculture (Directorate General forLivestock Animal Health Service (DGLAHS) for live animal and animal products) or from NationalAgency for Food and Drug Control (BPOM) for processed animal products.vi.Any entry of animals, materials of animal origin, or products made of materials of animal origin aresubject to the following conditions:a. Importers must obtain an import permit from the Ministry of <strong>Trade</strong>.b. The permit for import of live animal, animal products, and processed animal products thatpossess risk of zoonosis spread will be released after obtaining Import ApprovalRecommendation (RPP) from the Ministry of Agriculture. The Minister of Agriculture delegatesauthority on the issuance of RPP to the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal HealthServices.c. Importation must be made through designated points of entry.vii.viii.ix.Certificate of Origin Country can be issued by Chambers of Commerce or notary public.Materials of animal origin or products made of materials of animal origin, which include <strong>dairy</strong>products, intended for human consumption must also be accompanied by a Halal certificate froman accredited Islamic Council (except pork).Other certificates needed for certain processed food products are as follows:Sri Lankaa. Composition analysis certificate from producers (must be original, valid for 6 months).b. Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) content certificate.In Sri Lanka Food Control System is working under the Ministry of Healthcare, Nutrition and Uva WellassaDevelopment. Over the last few years Sri Lanka has initiated action to revise / review the existing FoodRegulations. This is done in keeping with the guidelines of the Codex Alimentarius Commission and othertexts to ensure that a set of science-based and risk-based regulations is in place to strengthen country'sregulatory system with the assistance of a national consultant where a complete set of draft regulationshave been prepared.Import Regulationi. The government of Sri Lanka has adopted the open market policy on the trading of <strong>dairy</strong> products.As such all <strong>dairy</strong> products are under open general license system and the only requirement the94
