Installing Classic Thesis style file in Lyx 2.0 on Windows XP

بسم االله الرحمن الرحيم<strong>Install<strong>in</strong>g</strong> <strong>Classic</strong> <strong>Thesis</strong> <strong>style</strong> <strong>file</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Lyx</strong> <strong>2.0</strong> on W<strong>in</strong>dows XP:1. Get the <strong>file</strong>s from https://code.google.com/p/classicthesis/downloads/list2. Extract the <strong>file</strong>s to wherever you like.3. Copy classicthesis.sty to:C:\Documents and Sett<strong>in</strong>gs\All Users\Application Data\MiKTeX\2.9\tex\latex\lyx4. As classicthesis uses KOMA-SCRIPT class <strong>file</strong>s, you need to update the scrbook.layout<strong>file</strong> to use the classicthesis.sty <strong>style</strong> <strong>file</strong>:a. Go to: C:\Program Files\LyX20\Resources\layouts and open scrbook.layout <strong>file</strong>b. Save it as classicthesis.layout <strong>in</strong> the same folder. Make sure that the extension isLAYOUT not TXT. You may want to change folder options to show theextension of <strong>file</strong>s

c. In classicthesis.layout, do the follow<strong>in</strong>g:i. Change the second l<strong>in</strong>e:# \DeclareLaTeXClass{book (KOMA-Script)}, to:# \DeclareLaTeXClass[thesis, classicthesis.sty]{book (<strong>Classic</strong><strong>Thesis</strong>)}ii. Add at the end of the <strong>file</strong>:Preamble\usepackage{classicthesis}EndPreambleiii. Save <strong>file</strong>!5. Go to: Start/All Programs/MikTeX 2.9/Ma<strong>in</strong>tenance (Adm<strong>in</strong>)/Sett<strong>in</strong>gs (Adm<strong>in</strong>)6. Press Refresh FNDB7. In <strong>Lyx</strong>: Tools/Reconfigure8. Restart <strong>Lyx</strong>, you should f<strong>in</strong>d the <strong>style</strong> <strong>file</strong> under Document Class
