Back-to-School 2012Learning Today ~ Leading TomorrowCongratulationsClass of 2012116 th Commencement, June 3, 2012On June 3, 2012 Copley High School held its One Hundred and Sixteenth annualCommencement exercises. The Class of 2012 and all that supported them on theirjourney to graduation should be proud of all that they have accomplished.At the ceremony the district said goodbye to an outstanding group of graduates.Approximately 89% of the seniors will be continuing their education through postsecondary academics. Nineteen seniors graduated with a grade point average above4.0. This accounts for 7% of the graduating class. Seventy students graduated withan Honors Diploma and sixty-eight students ended their high school careers on theAcademic Honor Roll. The class also earned over one hundred and ten scholarshipsin excess of 3 million dollars that were awarded through the Copley-Fairlawn SchoolsFoundation, local community members and businesses, and colleges and universities.The district extends a congratulations to this truly impressive group of seniors.The success of the Class of 2012 was demonstrated through their achievements inthe classroom, on the field of competition, on the stage, and in the many extra- andco-curricular activities available at CHS. This senior class is able to boast fifteenstudent-athletes that have signed commitments to continue their athletic careers atvarious colleges to participate in football, soccer, volleyball, wrestling, swimming, andcross-country.
