14.8 ADDITIONAL WAIVERS FOR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS14.8.2 Residence Requirement.To be read in conjunction with NCAA Bylaw 14.8.2 (c):(c)Transfer from Institution on Probation. A student-athlete granted a waiver of the one-year residencerequirement by the NCAA under NCAA Bylaw 14.8.2 (c) shall be eligible for aid, practice <strong>and</strong>participation at the time of transfer, provided all other <strong>Conference</strong> <strong>and</strong> NCAA requirements are met, butonly if the transfer is from a non-<strong>Conference</strong> institution.14.10 CERTIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY14.10.1 Institutional Responsibility for Eligibility Certification.14.10.1.2 Certification of Eligibility Form. Before a student-athlete may compete in any intercollegiate contest,his/her eligibility must be certified to the Commissioner on the squad list form furnished by the <strong>Conference</strong>. Theappropriate institutional official shall certify the student-athlete’s initial eligibility (freshman academic requirementsor transfer requirements), continuing eligibility (progress toward degree), <strong>and</strong> financial aid. In addition, the processfor confirming <strong>and</strong> certifying eligibility shall be approved by the Athletic Director <strong>and</strong> the Faculty AthleticsRepresentative. [Revised 6/1/11]14.10.1.3 Certification of Eligibility Deadline. Each student-athlete must be initially certified prior to his/her firstcontest each academic year, whether or not this contest occurs prior to the academic term designated as the regularseason for that sport.14.10.1.4 Certification of Continuing Eligibility in Additional Terms. The Commissioner shall be advised bythe institution of the continuing eligibility of each student-athlete who will participate in sports during additionalterms of the academic year after the initial annual certification. (NOTE: A list of those with continuing eligibility issufficient.)24
