Take-Apart Laparoscopic InstrumentsB. RE-ASSEMBLYStep 1:For handles with rotation: Screw shaft with connection nut to handle’srotating wheel while holding rotating wheel in a fixed position. Forhandles without rotation: Screw shaft with connection nut to handlewhile holding handle in a fixed position.Take-Apart Laparoscopic InstrumentsStep 2:For handles with ratchets: Push gold-plated lever down to detachdisassemble ratchet connection. For handles without ratchets:Go directly to Step 3.Step 3:Open the handle per Disassembly: Step 2. Handle must remain inthe fully open position to properly seat the insert into the handleassembly. Slide insert into shaft with jaws in the closed position.Align the raised pins below the insert tip with the slots on theshaft. Push the raised pins into the slots. When an audible pop isheard, observe the push button on the handle is visible.ClosedMost openStep 4:Close handle against resistance until insert engages intoshaft and an audible snap is heard.
