Classes began on Saturday,September 18. The Academy‘s mission is toteach children the <strong>Greek</strong> language, culture,heritage, customs, traditions and religion in thecontext of the <strong>Greek</strong> <strong>Orthodox</strong> faith.CURRICULUMThe Academy‘s curriculum is designed for 10academic classes preferably for 8 to 10students per class, and children are groupedaccording to age and level of <strong>Greek</strong>. Wewelcome children from the age of 3 and up.KINDERGARTEN & FIRST GRADE: 9:30—11:30amStudents are introduced to the <strong>Greek</strong> alphabet,simple reading, and grammar.HIGHER GRADES: 9:00—11:30amAs students progress, they learn to read andwrite in <strong>Greek</strong>, and also learn about <strong>Greek</strong>history, mythology, literature, religion,geography, culture and traditions.ADULT CLASSES: 11:45am-1:30pmClasses are specifically designed for adults.The most important addition to our curriculumlast year was a course preparing students inadvanced classes for the yearly examinations.Candidates are prepared on any of four levelsof linguistic proficiency.
