J.SummaryThe frequency spectrum produced by single-tone, two-tone, and multitonemodulating signals in the case of amplitude -modulation, frequencymodulation, and combined amplitude and frequency modulation are studiedin turn. Amplitude, symmetry, and energy of sidebands for the differentcases are considered. Extensive computations are made of frequencyspectrums, and these are compared with actual frequency spectrumsobserved by means of a spectrum analyzer.
