Rhea (Stephens) Black '38 is near-
ing retirement from her long teaching
career. She teaches music in the San
Diego, CA Unified School District. Her
family is very actively involved in
church work, and Rhea specifically di-
rects the choir.
Merriam 1. (Howenstine) Bristley '38
is a 4th grade teacher at school No. 82
of the Indianapolis Public Schools. She
earned her master's degree at Butler
U. in 1974.
Dr. Richard E. Emery '38, former
principal of Indianapolis Wood H.S.
and nationally known educator is now
the Superintendent of the Hennepin
Co. Vocational Technical Schools in
Minnesota. Dr. Emery was awarded
an honorary Doctor of letters degree
by ICC in 1974. He was named Indi-
anapolis Manual H.S. "Alumnus of the
year" for 1971. He and his wife,
Margaret (long) '48, live in Edina,
Minnesota.
Joseph G. lsham '38 is senior ac-
countant for the Detroit Diesel Allison
division of GMC. He lives in Indi-
anapolis.
Harland 1. Kerlin '38 is a mathe-
matics teacher for the Blackford Co. IN
Schools. He lives in Hartford City, IN.

Lowell M. Barnett '39 is athletic
director at Muncie Southside High
School. His wife is May (Trumbull)
Barnett '36. They live in Muncie.
Frederick E. Berg '39 is the owner
of his own appliance store in Bremen,
IN. His son, Kermit, is a 1973 ICC
grad.
George A. Garriott '39 is a doctor
of chiropractic. He lives in Horton-
ville, WI.
Paul E. Klinge '39 of Bloomington,
IN, a former ICC student, now serves
as an assistant to the president of
Indiana University.

the U.S. Air Force. He was a colonel.

town, IN has retired from his elemen-

Rev. Gordon C. Core '43 is pastor

Church. He assumed his position in
June of 1974. Gordon's wife, Odessa
'44, is a former student. The Cores
live in Lebanon, OH.
Rev. Verdun 1. LaChance '43 is an
elementary school teacher for the Bar-
stow Unified School District in Barstow,
CA. He lives in lucerne Valley, CA.
Roger E. Schueler '43 is a professor
and director of the jazz band at Mili-
kin U. He lives in Decatur, 11.

tection specialist for the Federal Trade
Commission. She lives in Kansas City,
MO.
Rev. William E. Brett '44 is pastor
of Mulberry U.M. Church in Mulberry,
IN. His wife is Shirley (Payne) '45.
The Bretts have two children at IC,
Dennis, a iunior, and Susan, a fresh-
man.
Roberta (Bland) Klinkman '44, an-
nounced to the Alumni News recently
that her son, Kevin, has joined the
firm of Adding Machine Service and
Sales in Indianapolis. It was started
by Roberta's father 50 years ago.

coordinator for the Wonder Life Corp.
