26 IC Seniors Join
Epsilon Sigma Alpha
On the eve of alumni Day this May
26, new Epsilon Sigma Alpha members
were initiated into that senior honor
society. Membership is determined by
the examination of the student's aca-
demic work and his or her contribution
to campus life.
The 29th annual E.S.A. dinner-meet-
ing was held in one of the side dining
rooms in Schwitzer Center on Friday
evening, May 16. The gather group of
60 included alumni members of the or-
ganization, members of the organiza-
tion's executive board, and the new
initiates. This year for the first time.
new initiates were allowed to bring
their spouses to the meeting.
Several campus personalities were
guests of E.S.A. at the dinner. Among
these were President Gene E. Sease,
and Dr. Edward of Vondrak. Dr. Vondrak,
a member of the Indiana Central
physics and mathematics department
and a member of Phi Beta Kappa, is
aiding the senior honor society in its
current exploration of the possibility of
national affiliation.
The evening began with an invocation,
and was followed by a steak dinner.
Traditionally, the new initiates are
the guests of E.S.A. at this event.
Following the dinner, the evening's
address was delivered by Indiana Central
faculty member William H. Hudnut
Ill. Hudnut, a former U.S. Congressman
from Indiana is now running for mayor
of Indianapolis. At the university he
serves as assistant director of continuing
education.
Following Hudnut's address new
members were received into the organization,
and presented with commemorative
certificates from the ocasion.
Those initiated include Rita H. Ault,
Terri Rae Chattin, Margaret L. Haverstick,
Kathleen Hoagland, Jolene S.
Hochstetler, Susan J. Humbarger, Bruce
G. Jones, Kay Kirkpatrick, Patricia A.
Lawler, and Janice Lesniak.
Also ioining the group were Janet K.
Musselman, Pamela A. Pennington,
Joseph Pietro, Jr., Marcia G. Smith,
James M. Stanton, Marrilyn St. Clair,

Susan K. Stone, Joy K. Tweed, Linda J.
Tyson, Dennis VanEmon, Jane L. Wells,
Joan Wells, Dolores T. West, Suzanne
Willey, Beth Ann Wolfe, and Linda M.
Woods.
Following the initiation a brief busi-
ness meeting was held at which E.S.A.
Secretary-Treasure Terry A. Taylor '73
reported on the financial situation of
Epsilon Sigma Alpha, and of their at-
tempt to locate a group for national af-
filiation.
Finally, all the alumni members pres-
ent introduced themselves to the group,
and told what they are doing now.
The meeting was closed by Dr. Roy
V. Davis '25, this year's Distinguished
Alumnus.
Mary Kay Anthony
Elected Alumni VP
In IC Spring Vote
Mary Kay Anthony '65 of Greenwood,
IN has been elected vice-president
of Indiana Central's Alumni Board
of Directors. She was elected in this
spring's alumni election. Mary Kay,
who was the director of this year's
alumni day convocation program will
accede to the presidency of the alumni
organization automatically for the
1976-77 year.
Elected to represent alumni on the
IC Board of Trustees were Sherman A.
Cravens '42, who is associate general
secretary of the U n it e d Methodist
Church, and John Mullen '48, person-
nel administration manager for Dow
Chemical Corp. in Indianapolis.
New directors of the board are Carol
Ann Gossman '60, a housewife; Cleotha
Moore '64, personnel manager for the
RCA Corporation in Indianapolis; Dr.
Robert B. Hanni '50, superintendent of
the Twin Lakes School Corp.; Maurice
Nickels '69, regional director for D.A.
Lubricants of Indianapolis; and Cheryl
Larson '71, an instructor in nursing at
Indiana Central.
Spring Brings
Off ice Moves
To IC Campus
If you come looking for the Alumni
Office in the lower level of Schwitzer
Center you may be disappointed: we
aren't there anymore.
As part of the series of administrative
changes made at the college this
spring the Alumni Office has been
moved to the lower level of Esch Hall.
Our exact location is the former office
of admissions on the hallway that runs
East and West, parallel to Hanna Avenue,
on the south end of the building.
In our new office we are being
ioined by the office of public relations
and church relations. We all belong
to the division of the college administration
known as Administrative Support
Services.
Our old office complex in Schwitzer
Center is now housing Student Services
which includes both the Dean of Students
and the Dean of Women, and
the Admissions Office staff.
The offices of Placement and of
Human Relations which also were located
in the alumni lounge area have
been moved, too.
Placement is now located on the
main floor of Esch Hall in the office
formerly occupied by the registrar.
Human Relations headed by Kip Kistler
is now located in what was the Central
Council office on the Schwitzer
Center Concourse.
Incidentallly, if you are wondering
what happened to the registrar, you will
find that his office and all academic
offices are now located in the old evening
division office area in Good Hall.
New Trustees
On Friday May 16, 1975, President
Sease announced that Mr. Gordon St.
Angelo has been elected to the Board
of Trustees of Indiana Central for a
th ree-yea r term.
Dr. Sease also announced that Indianapolis
Mayor Richard G. Lugar has
been elected Vice-chairman of the
Board.
Members of the Board who were reelected
for another three-year term
were Robert Baxter, State Representative
Ray P. Crowe, and Dr. Harriet
Capehart.
