MARRIAGES
Rebecca L. Grimm '74 was married
to Randall J. Slavens on January 11,
1975. Becky and Randy now live in
Moores Hill, IN.
Bruce Haddix '74 of Greencastle, IN
was married to former Indiana Central
student Ann Scharbrough on August
18, 1974. Bruce is a music teacher at
Indianapolis school #79. He had the
honor of singing the lead role in De-
Pauw U.'s winter opera "Die Fleder-
maus," which was performed in Feb-
ruary of 1975.
Jack 6. Harmon '74 and Dorothy R.
Panhorst '72 were married in February
of 1975. Jack maiored in business.
Dorothy earned a degree in nursing.
The couple lives in Indianapolis.
Joseph N. Kapciak '70 married
Jeanne K. Rutledge at Hammond, IN
on August 10, 1974. Joe teaches music
at Evans Elementary school in Hobart,
IN. He and his bride live in Hammond.
Lucy K. Kitson '70 married Paul D.
Jobin on August 3, 1974. Paul is an
electrician in Spring Lake, MI. Lucy is
a kindergarten teacher at the Michigan
town of Muskegon Heights. The Jobins
live in Spring Lake.
Martha Philhower '74 m a r r i e d
Thomas Dafnos in February of 1975.
The Dafnos live in Anderson, IN, where
Martha is serving as Minister of Music
at Central Christian Church.
The Alumni News has learned that
Linda D. Renton '74 was married on
August 11, 1974 to James R. Hedges
'71. The couple lives in the Hoosier
cap ita I.
BIRTHS
Blodgett, Gregory Grant, was born
on January 22, 1975. His parents are
Ann (Brown) Blodgett a former student
from the class of '67, and her husband,
Jeff. The Blodgett family lives in Mons,
Belgium about 52 kilometers from
Brussels. Jeff works for the U.S. Ele-
ment at S.H.A.P.E. Jeff and Ann have
one other son, Michael who is six.
Doan, Curtis Ray, born February 15,
1975 to Ray and Debby West '66.
Curtis has a sister, Natalie, who is
seven. The Wests continue to live in
Indianapolis.
Elkins, Sara Suzanne, born on Janu-
ary 17, 1975. Sara is the daughter of
David and Carol (Tetzlaff) '65 Elkins
of South Bend, IN. Sara is the second
daughter of the couple. Their older
daughter is Robin, who was born four
years ago. Carol writes to tell us that
she has retired for the time being from
obstetrical nursing, but plans to return
to work when the children are older.
Ferrier, Douglas Allen, born on May
11, 1975 to Jim Ferrier '70 and his
wife, Judith. The Ferriers are now
living in Bloomington, IL.
Fuller, Jason Lloyd, born November
23, 1973 to Skip and Kathy (Leary)
Fuller both of the class of '70. The
Fullers now live in Kansas City, MO.
Hall, Joshua Todd, born February 7,
1975 to Margaret (Walker) Hall '68,
and her husband, Dennis. Margaret
writes that even though she is a regis-
tered nurse, she is now working as a
full time mother. Joshua has a "big"
brother, Forrest, who is two. The Halls
live in Chandler, AZ.
Howard, William Grant, was born
on July 12, 1974. His parents are
Bill Howard '60, and his wife Gwen.
Their other children are: Anne, age
seven, and Brice, age four. Bill was
elected prosecuting attorney of Jef-
ferson County, Washington in last No-
vember's election. Until September of
1974 he had served with the Wash-
ington State Attorney General's office.
The Howards live in the town of Port
Townsend, WA.
Huey, Christina Michelle, born on
December 10, 1974. Her parents are
Rich Huey '67 and his wife Linda. Rich
is Director of Guidance and Counseling
at the Western Boone County Schools
in Indiana. The Hueys live in Lebanon,
IN. Richard earned his Ed.S. degree
from Butler U. in December of 1974.
He received his M.S. degree from St.
Francis College in 1970.
Maxson, Virginia Agnes, born May
11, 1975 to Vern '68 and Judi (Thorn-
burgh) '69 Maxson. The Maxsons are
now living in Indianapolis, IN.
McCormick, Ann Christa, born on
January 22, 1975. Ann's parents are
Thomas C. '61 and Sharon Kay Mc-
Cormick. They live in Arvada, CO.
Miller, Michael W., born on Febru-
ary 1, 1975 to James E. and Barbara
(McMichael) '67 Miller. The Millers
are living in Greenwood, IN.
Morris, Jeffrey Michael born on De-
cember 20, 1974. His parents are
James Morris '69 and his wife, Kathy.
James is teaching sixth grade at Dan-
ville Elementary School in Danville, IN.
He also assists with sixth grade basket-
ball. Jeff is the Morris' first child. They
live in Greenwood.
Morrison, Matthew Joseph. Adopted
by Sue (Durbin) '66 and Carl Morrison
'64. Matthew was born on November
6, 1974, and brought home from the
hospital on March 11, 1975. The Mor-
risons now live in Anaheim, CA.
Mullen, Shelly Kay, born February
11, 1975 to Marlowe '70 and Donna
K. (Stone) '70 Mullen. The Mullens
live in Indianapolis.
Nichols, Gary Allen, born on Feb-
ruary 15, 1975 to Terry Jean (Hoyt)
'72, and her husband, Gary. The
Nichols live in Parkersburg, WV.
Prybylla, Steven Raymond, born May
29, 1974. His parents are Rae Jean
(VanArsdel) '63 and Kenneth F. Pry-
bylla, a former student from the class
of 1962. The Prybylla's live in Mun-
cie, IN. They have two other children,
Terri, seven, and Bill, four. Rae Jean
is a part-time nurse at the Muncie
CI in ic.
Rankin, Neil Alan, born March 30,
1975 to Phil '70 and Carolyn (Watson)
'67 Rankin. The Rankins are living in
Kokomo, IN.
Rule, Alan Walter, born on February
9, 1975. His parents are Sylvia (Thomp-
son) Rule '70 and her husband Bill.
The Rules live in rural Martinsville, IN.
Smith, Aaron James was born June
9, 1974 to Jim and Connie (Farrer) '67
Smith. Aaron has one older brother,
named Jason, who is two. The Smiths
live in Kokomo, IN.
Thomas, Melanie Ellen, born on No-
vember 13, 1973 to Melvin Thomas
'74, and his wife, Che ry 1. The
Thomases live in Indiana's capital city.
