The approval process usually takesabout 3 weeks. Depending on the length of cable to be installed, supply will normally be available 4 to6 weeks from the date customer's premises is ready to receive the service cable.+ <strong>Electricity</strong> supply will normally be available within 10 weeks of handing over of substation. Thelead time required to submit an application <strong>for</strong> supply is provided as a guide to customers and mayvary from case to case depending on the customer's building programme.++ The lead time <strong>for</strong> these events serves as a guide. However, these events must be clearedbe<strong>for</strong>e turn-on of supply can be effected.# These installations may be tested by authorised small installation testers if the extent of theelectrical extension work falls within the Authorised Small Installation Tester Scheme (See Note 9).2.5 Notes To Be Read In Conjunction With <strong>Application</strong> ProcedureNote 1 - Licensed Electrical WorkerUnder the Electrical Workers & Contractors Licensing Regulations, 1997, the design and installationof an electrical installation may be undertaken by the following categories of Licensed ElectricalWorkers:-Electrical Workers<strong>Supply</strong> Capacity ofinstallationVoltageElectrician Not exceeding 45 kVA Not exceeding 1000VoltsElectrical Technician Design: Not exceeding150 kVAInstall: Not exceeding500 kVAElectrical Engineer No limit No limitNot exceeding 1000VoltsCustomer should appoint a Licensed Electrical Worker appropriate to the capacity and voltage of hisproposed installation. He should in<strong>for</strong>m PSL immediately of any change of Electrical Worker duringthe course of the project.Note 2 - Submission Of <strong>Application</strong><strong>Application</strong> is to be made through a Licensed Electrical Worker of appropriate grade as indicated inNote 1 using <strong>for</strong>m CS/1 (sample is shown in Appendix 1).An application involving new service connection or change in intake position shall be submitted with 2copies of Architect's site plan (1: 1000 scale) and plan showing the desired service connectionposition to facilitate the processing of the application. For an application involving new serviceconnection to landed residential property development, a copy of the plan duly endorsed by theNational Parks Board showing planting islands reserved <strong>for</strong> the installation of overground distributionboxes shall also be submitted with the application. (Such plan may be obtained from the civilengineer in-charge of the development.)<strong>Application</strong> <strong>for</strong> supply shall only be submitted <strong>for</strong> firm projects approved by the CompetentAuthorities where appropriate. For projects which are under conception/ planning stage, licensedelectrical workers or architects may make a pre-application consultation using <strong>for</strong>m CS/2 (sample isshown in Appendix 2).<strong>Application</strong>s may be sent by post or submitted in person at PSL's Customer Services Centre, UpperFirst Storey, 111, Somerset Road #01-10, Singapore Power Building, Singapore 238164.
