Electrical, Electronic& Allied IndustriesWho are they?This group is one of the largest in the SMF. It comprises a broad swathof companies which are involved in Singapore’s electrical and electronicindustries, including telecommunications providers, consumer electronicsmanufacturers, infocomm companies, industrial electric system providersand other supporting industries.HistorySingapore’s electronics industry started modestly in the 1960s. It was theonly country in Southeast Asia to have a TV assembly plant. The industryhas since grown from strength to strength, becoming a vital node in theglobal electronics market.
