II.CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION (0 Ratifications)A. Cramer Elementary School (Kirwin)1. PracticumIt is recommended that permission be granted for Ms. Kisha Williams and Ms. Juanita Mathis,Teachers of the Handicapped, to complete their practicum for Elementary School Counseling, <strong>October</strong>2009-December 2009. Both teachers attend Wilmington University, and will be under the directsupervision of Ms. Ronda Brown, Guidance Counselor, Cramer Elementary School. Both teachersmust complete 100 hours.There will be no cost to the Board.B. Sumner Elementary School (Kirwin)1. Research StudyIt is recommended that Ms. Christine Neumerski, doctoral student at University of Michigan,conduct a brief research study at Sumner School for her thesis. The dissertation is entitled,“Instructional Leadership: Practices and Capabilities”. Ms. Neumerski plans to spend one week,November 16-November 20, 2009, at the school.There will be no cost to the Board.C. Curriculum & Instruction Dept.1. System 21 (Kirwin)It is recommended that permission be granted for a 7 th grade class at Bonsall Family School topilot System 21 for the 2009 – 2010 school year published by Scholastic. System 21 is a language artsliteracy program designed to accelerate students from basic to proficient. On site professionaldevelopment and all text books and supplemental materials will be provided. Instruction will take placedaily during the 120 minute literacy block.There will be no cost to the Board.2. Internship (Treece)It is recommended that Mr. Aldo Barta be permitted to complete his internship for the NewJersey’s Master of Education Leadership for the 2009-2010 school year. The College of New Jerseyrequires each student to complete 300 hours over the course of a summer, fall and spring semester. Mr.Barta will complete his internship under the supervision of Ms. Morgan, Yorkship School Principal, andCareer and Technical Education Director.There will be no cost to the Board.<strong>Official</strong> Report 65<strong>October</strong> <strong>26</strong>, 2009
