Alignment with medicalprogrammes Hauora Māori curriculum domain <strong>and</strong> the Faculty’s Hauora Māori graduate profile will bediscussed. On-going areas to develop, <strong>and</strong> challenges to teaching <strong>and</strong> assessing Hauora Māori will beidentified.Presenter: Dr Sue CrengleSue is from the Waitaha, Kati Mamoe <strong>and</strong> Kāi Tahu tribes. She obtained her medical,MPH <strong>and</strong> PhD degrees from The University of Auckl<strong>and</strong>. She holds specialtyqualifications in general practice <strong>and</strong> public health medicine. Sue was a recipient ofa Harkness Fellowship in Health Policy 1999–2000, working at Johns Hopkins Schoolof Public Health, Baltimore, USA. On her return she worked as a Senior Advisor inthe Ministry of Health for 12 months. ClinicianAbstractThe Committee of Deans of Australian Medical Schools (CDAMS) published the CDAMS Indigenous HealthCurriculum Framework in August 2004. Authored by Mr Gregory Phillips it reflected work commenced in 2002developing a nationally agreed curriculum framework for the inclusion of Indigenous health in core medicalcurricula.This session will trace the journey from this seminal document to Problem-Based Learning (PBL) classroomimplementation in the medical program.34
