Each plate has the following features:• Plate is much stronger around the bend to tranfer stress away fromvulnerable areas.• Plate tapers distally to minimise stress riser on metatarsal at the end ofthe plate.• Full hybrid. Metatarsal holes smaller than tibia holes.• Slots above and below bend to maximise screw angle options.IMPROVEDDESIGNCustom Made ImplantsDue to the often unique nature of our patients and fracture configurations,there will always be special or unusual circumstances where a suitableimplant will just not appear to be available.Over many years, we have collected a considerable number of these more‘unusual’ plates that we have not shown in our catalogue, but might just besuitable for your requirements. If you cannot find what you are looking forin the main body of the catalogue, please just ask as we might alreadyhave a solution ready and waiting just for you! We have the facilities tocustomise existing implants in house too, so please don’t just rely on whatyou can see in the catalogue and get in touch with us if you are getting abit stuck.During the next year, we aim to be able to provide an increased range of‘more unusual, semi-customised plates’ which will be available directlyfrom stock, which, barring alterations to meet specific patient’s needs, willbe available for immediate dispatch.This very pro-active approach should represent a considerable time savingin turn-around compared with designing patient specific implants fromscratch only following fracture. The proximal half of the plate is pushedthrough and retrograded back up the tibia.
