Part 3Coaching <strong>of</strong> studentsYou will be asked to coach students performing the set and / or free work.Emphasis will be placed on your rapport with the students and relevantcorrections relating to the Assessment Criteria and Definitions as stated in the<strong>Specification</strong>s. The students and pianist in this section will be supplied by theAcademy.Part 4Observation and written commentThis section will take the form <strong>of</strong> a mock exam. You will be required to askstudents to perform selected exercises from the syllabus. You will be advised toobserve and make written comments on specific points from the AssessmentCriteria and Definitions sections in the <strong>Specification</strong>s. The students and pianistfor this session will be supplied by the Academy.Part 5Report writingYou will be required to write a report on the students observed in the ObservationSection. The report should relate to specific criteria points as advised in theObservation and Written Section.Part 6Final interviewDuring this interview you will discuss your observations and report writing withthe assessors, who will also question your understanding <strong>of</strong> the AssessmentCriteria and Definitions sections in the <strong>Specification</strong>s and the role <strong>of</strong> anExaminer.Throughout the audition the assessors will observe applicants’ interpersonalskills when dealing with group situations. They will also monitor applicants’ abilityto take and act upon instruction(s) and to receive constructive feedback.5.3 When will I know the outcome <strong>of</strong> the Audition?You will be notified <strong>of</strong> the outcome in writing, including a report, within two weeks <strong>of</strong> the Auditiondate. If you have been successful at the Audition you will be invited to a Training Programmeand you will be given details <strong>of</strong> this in due course.6. Examiner Training Programme6.1 Where will this take place?The first part <strong>of</strong> the Examiner Training Programme takes place at RAD Headquarters in Londonand selected international centres. The second part involves the applicant shadowing anExaminer on tour. (Where possible we will try to allocate you to a tour in your country <strong>of</strong>residence).6.2 What happens during the Training?The training programme is approximately 4 weeks in duration.
