Rather, it lies in the zones of fricdon between these two tectonic plates, where what seem on the surface to be distant condnents overlap in the depths, raising the stakes of the challenge to the usual cartography of art. The territory of Art Brut is one of destabilizadon and new foundadons. It forces us to invent new tools to think of art, seƒng aside dogmadsm and lazy intellectual reflexes.
