Hydratite WRLiquid contains no added chlorides.•••Water tanks, reservoirs, basements, sewagetreatment plants, swimming pools, and otherwater containment concrete structures.Ready mixed concrete production.Pumped concrete.Hydratite WR Liquid complies with therequirements of the following admixturespecifications: BS 5075: Part 1: 1982; SS 320:1987. One litre weighs approximately 1.15 kg± 0.02 kg.Advantages• Reduced permeability of concretematrix.• Increased compressive and flexuralstrengths at all ages.• Improved workability and placingcharacteristics.• Reduced bleeding, improved surfacefinish of concrete.• Controlled hydration throughmoderate retardation of set.• Approved for use in concrete fordrinking water reservoirs.• Effective over a wide range of cementcontents and mix deigns, includingPFA and Blast Furnace Slag blendedmixes.• Economical use cost.• Extended durability.ApplicationsTo produce less permeable, denser concretewith lower water content (typically 15%reduction), greater plasticity, and higherstrengths at all ages, with significant benefitsin the following applications:Chemical ActionArchitects, engineers, concrete technologistsand other authorities agree that high qualityconcrete with low water-cement ratio forhighest strength and with good workabilityfor easy placing and compaction will bewatertight in most applications, whenproperly cured. However, such concrete maystill absorb moisture by capillary action, andtherefore, a waterproofing admixture shouldbe used to prevent the passage of moisture.The addition of Hydratite WR Liquidprovides two main benefits in the objective ofachieving reduced permeability, high qualityconcrete:• Its powerful water-reducing capabilitypermits a significant reduction in watercementratio without loss in consistency(slump) of the concrete, and by altering themorphology of the hydration process ofthe cement, Hydratite WR Liquid createsreduced pore diameter after curing.

• Compatibility withThe carefully selected ingredients ofHydratite WR Liquid will also isolatethese pores and thus provide significantlyreduced permeability via capillary channels.Futhermore, the inclusion of Hydratite WRLiquid will permit approximately 15%water reduction and give greater plasticityand workability to the fresh concrete.The compressive and flexural strengthsof the hardened concrete are measurablyimproved, whilst drying shrinkage isminimised. Hydratite WR Liquid will delaythe normal setting time of concrete by 1 to 3hours at normal dosage rate.Addition RatesThe optimum addition rate for HydratiteWR Liquid is 700 mL / 100 kg cementitiousmaterial. The quantity of water added tothe concrete must be reduced by 15% whenHydratite WR Liquid is used.Other AdmixturesHydratite WR Liquid is compatible in concretewith all commercial air-entraining admixturessuch as Darex ® AEA ® , and with all nonretardingtype superplasticisers. Due to theair-entraining property of Hydratite WR Liquiditself, the addition rate of Darex AEA may bereduced by about 25-50% to avoid excessiveair contents in the concrete.
