Technology NotesNew versions of technology are released at various intervals. The current versionavailable to Ontario schools in June 2010 was used to prepare this technology appendix.Functions such as binompdf() can be selected from a menu, from the Catalog, or typeddirectly. The Catalog will also show you a summary of the syntax to be used with thefunction.Technology tends to be versatile, and many operations and processes can be achieved inmore than one way. This technology appendix will generally show you one way thatworks for a given operation, but others are available. A variety of approaches has beenused to give you a reasonable overview of the workings of the technology.Graphing CalculatorAll keystrokes shown are for the TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Plus family of graphingcalculators. The operating systems (OS) current at the time of writing are OS1.19 for theTI-83 Plus and OS 2.53 for the TI-84 Plus.TI-Nspire CAS (Computer Algebra System)The operating system current at the time of writing is OS 2.0.SpreadsheetsInstructions are for Microsoft® Excel® 2007 and Corel® Quattro Pro® 8. Similarfunctions can be found on other versions or spreadsheets, but may be accesseddifferently.FathomInstructions are for Fathom 2, but will generally work on Fathom (version 1) aswell.
