XP-30 Mar. 1999ERROR MESSAGE /If there has been a mistake in operation, or if the XP-30 is unable tocontinue processing as you directed, an error message will appear inthe display. Take the appropriate action for the displayed errormessage. This section gives the error messages in alphabeticalorder.Memory Card not ReadySituation: A memory card is not inserted in the MEMORYCARD slot.Action: Turn off the power, and insert a memory card. Battery LowMemory Card Write ProtectedSituation:Action:The internal backup battery that is preserving thecontents of user memory has run down.Consult your dealer or a nearby Roland servicestation to have the battery replaced. Situation:Action:Since a write protect sticker is affixed to the memorycard, data cannot be saved to the card bank.Remove the write protect sticker from the memorycard. File Format ErrorMIDI Buffer FullSituation:File I/O ErrorSituation:Action:The XP-30 cannot handle this file.It was not possible to save/load a file.Try the operation once again. If the same messageappears, that file has been damaged. Delete thedamaged file.File Name DuplicateSituation: A file of the same name exists on the memory card. Situation:Action:Due to an inordinate volume of MIDI messagesreceived, the XP-30 has failed to process themproperly.Reduce the amount of MIDI messages to betransmitted.MIDI Communication ErrorSituation: A problem has occurred with the MIDI cableconnections.Action: Check that MIDI cables are not broken or pulled out. Unformatted Memory CardSituation: This memory card cannot be used by the XP-30.Action: Format the memory card on the XP-30. Memory Card Full There is insufficient space available on the memorycard to save the data. Either insert a different memory card, or deleteunnecessary data and try the operation once again. User Memory DamagedSituation: The data in user memory has been lost.Action: Use the Factor Reset function (UTILITY/UTIL 2/FACTORY RESET) to initialize the memory to thefactory settings. Memory Card I/O ErrorSituation: It is possible that the memory card has been scratchedor otherwise damaged. If the memory card has been damaged, do not use thatmemory card. If the same error message appearsrepeatedly, consult your dealer or a nearby Rolandservice station.
