Tullamore Community Arts CentreThe community fundraising draw, raised €155,000. Workcontinued with the Board on the business planning,corporate fundraising, updating Dept on progress, website,refining the design, progressing charitable status and VATregistrationMidlands Collaborative Projects (The Arts Offices of<strong>Offaly</strong>, Westmeath, Laois and Longford)There were 2 publications of the Midlands Arts and CultureMagazine. This free, 32 page magazine, highlights the diversityand quality of arts projects across the four counties and aims tocreate a greater national cultural identity of the Midlands.Midland Master Classes were delivered as professionaldevelopment opportunities for artists in the MidlandsHullabaloo Children’s Arts FestivalIn 2012,Hullabaloo tookplace in bothBirr and Claraduring theOctober midtermbreak.Led by the Arts Office, in partnership with Birr Theatre and ArtsCentre, Clara Family Resource Centre and the Library Serviceover 35 events were organised with an attendance of 85%. Thefestival featured a live broadcast by RTE Jr and was featured onRTE Radio 1 and the Sunday Independent.Music GenerationIn 2012, <strong>Offaly</strong> and Westmeath Arts Offices led a multi agencyregional partnership application to Music Generation and onDecember 7th achieved €563,000 to roll out a 3 year MusicEducation programme for young people across the region.The project aims to creative a systematic and accessibleprogramme of music education in pre schools, primary andsecondary schools as well as community music opportunities. Itwill employ a full time Development Officer and p/timeAdministrative Officer and up to 30 musicians over a 3 yearperiod. The project will being in 2013.In preparation for this project two primary schools in <strong>Offaly</strong>, St.Mary’s Edenderry and Rhode NS performed in the NationalConvention Centre, Dublin in the intergenerational singingproject Rain Falling Up with the RTÉ National SymphonyOrchestra.Launch of Hullabaloo Children’s Arts Festival at Aras an Chontae<strong>Offaly</strong> Local Authorities <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> 201226
