1751. Barbier III, 239; Holzmann/Boh, 4260; Cohen- Ricci I, 411; Lanck.- Oehler I, 88 (describes<br />

1st edition of 1751); Preuß I, 55. The genealogical tables show the development of the House of<br />

Brandenburg, the beautiful vignettes, engraved by Schmidt (Thieme/Becker XXX, 142) show<br />

episodes from the lives of the portrayed sovereigns. Schmidt is like Meil and Chodowiecki one of<br />

the primary representatives of the art of copper engraving in 18 th -century Berlin. In part 2 the<br />

pagination jumps from 3 to 6. Slightly browned. Old n<strong>am</strong>e written on title. Fine copy.<br />

ancient history of the South of Italy and Sicily by the Dutch copper engraver and numismatist<br />

Hubertus Goltzius (1526-1583). Maps showing the Southern part of Italy and Sicily, plates with<br />

designs of coins. The portrait in part two by Melchior Lor(i)ch. Partly browned due to condition of<br />

paper, last page with restored tear, old n<strong>am</strong>e on title.<br />

browned due to paper quality, very fine copy of this important work.<br />
