A highlight of the evening was the presentationof Golden Legion certificates to eightmen who were initiated into <strong>Phi</strong> <strong>Delta</strong><strong>Theta</strong> Fraternity in 1938. Seven wereinitiated into the Mercer Chapter, GeorgiaGamma. They are: Lee Wood, Jr. and BiUAdams, both of Macon; Leon Garfield, IDof Monroe, Louisiana; Joe Struby of Millbrook,Alabama; BiUy Geeslin of LongboatKey, Florida; Dr. Walter Watts, Jr. ofAshville, <strong>No</strong>rth Carolina; and Dr. John M.Martin of Augusta. GA. The eighth recipientwas Ed Claxton of Dublin who wasinitiated fifty years ago in Georgia AlphaChapter of the University of Georgia.Six additional brothers who are alreadymembers of the <strong>Phi</strong> <strong>Delta</strong> <strong>Theta</strong> GoldenLegion were recognized. Particular recognitionwas given to Nelson D. Mallary, whocelebrated his 100th birthday this past year.He is the oldest living initiate of GeorgiaGamma Chapter at Mercer, being initiatedin September 1905.John Jackson, executive vice presidentof the Atlanta Club, brought his wife Sueand showed plans for the remodeling of theGeorgia <strong>Delta</strong> House at Georgia Tech.NASHVILLE: Hayne Hamflton (VanderbUt '54), Hayne Hamilton, Jr. (VanderbUt '79),Jack Braden (VanderbUt '63), president of Eta South province, and Homer Gibbs (VanderbUt'54) visit at the NashviUe Founders Day.NASHVILLE: Vanderbilt <strong>Phi</strong>s Calvin Lewis ('76), John Hardin ('54), Burke Hardin ('78)and Laird Smith ('62) enjoy a laugh at the NashviUe Founders Day dinner.MACON: Bob Steed, chairman of Mercer'sboard of trustees, was the featuredspeaker at the Macon Founders Daydinner.NASHVILLEOn April 6, the Nashville Alumni Clubobserved Founders Day at the UniversityClub on the campus of Vanderbilt University.As always, it was a packed house withover 130 alumni and undergraduates enjoyinga fineevening.After an excellent meal. President BillEstes (Vanderbilt '55) welcomed everyoneto the banquet and noted that 22 variouschapters were represented. Bill then calledupon Jack Braden (Vanderbilt '63), EtaSouth Province President, to give an updateon the status of the chapters within theprovince.Next on the evening's agenda, and certainlythe highlight, was the Golden Legionceremony. Brother Braden performed theritual, and Brothers James E. Caldwell(Vanderbilt '41), W. Andrew Dale (Davidson'41), Joseph C.
