PETERSBURG BEACH.The St. Pete Beach Alumni Club had it'sFounders Day Banquet on Feb. 26 at thebeautiful Lakewood Country Club in St.Petersburg.We had the largest turnout in the past 22years inducting into the Golden Legion sixbrothers including John C. Bushman, CarrollT. Eddie, Wendell H. Green, RobertG. Hill, Jack Garza Howe, and ClydeWebb Railsback. We were honored tohave Tal Bray, president of the generalcouncil as our principal speaker. BrotherBray brought us up to date on the presentand future of our great fraternity as well astouching on some of our past. He left us onthe note that the future was very bright for<strong>Phi</strong> <strong>Delta</strong> <strong>Theta</strong> and that this past year forhimself has been quite an experience, onehe'll never forget.We also had Scott Baughan, a <strong>Phi</strong> seniornow attending Eckerd College and a transfereefrom the Universitry of South Florida.Eckerd College is located in St. Petersburgonly a short distance from where our alumnifunctions take place. We have high hopes ofeventually establishing a colony at EckerdCollege with Scott spearheading it in it'sinitial phases with encouragement fromBrother Edward Hopper, president Chi-South Province.As we wound down our 1987-88 year,our last social function took place on thepleasure craft "The Captain Anderson" includinga dinner/dance cruise on BocaCeiga Bay (translated from the Spanishsettlers, "Blind Mouth") on April 22.Dinner was chosen from five entrees. Wehad our largest turnout, ever, thanks to ourbrother Lyman (Bud) Cherry and hislovely wife, Jeanne for making all of thearrangements and providing us with a spectacularevening for this most popular andgala event.A slate of officers, some new and someold, were nominated and elected at ourmeeting on May 13 to carry on next yearbeginning with our officers instaUation banquetto be held on September 30, 1988 atthe Breckenridge Resort Hotel, St. PetersburgBeach, FL. Brother Robert A. Morgan,will assume the office of president andbrother Walter Pearson, will take over asvice president. In addition, brother Pearsonwill be kept busy, not only with <strong>Phi</strong> <strong>Delta</strong><strong>Theta</strong>, but also as secretary and districtyouth exchange officer of the Rotary.We would like to extend a special invitationto all those <strong>Phi</strong>s who are now residingin our area and would welcome them tocome join us in our luncheons the last Fridayof the odd numbered months, exceptwhen held in October, held at the Pass-A-Grille Yacht Club, St. Petersburg Beach andother social functions as hsted in our scheduleof events for 1988-89.—Gerard L.<strong>No</strong>varioTALLAHASEEThe Tallahassee Area Alumni Club heldits annual Founders Day banquet on Wed-Clyde W. State RepresentativeTom Drage (Florida State '70) was thefeatured speaker.Tom not only shared some of the "lighter"moments of his undergraduate days, butalso emphasized to the active brothers fromFlorida Gamma how the fraternity experiencerelates to business and professionallife. With the busy legislative season gettingready to start up, we appreciate BrotherDrage taking time out to join our Founder'sDay celebration.The Golden Legion ceremony was thehighlight of the evening featuring a SoutheasternConference twosome.
