Callersare immediately connected with a qualified <strong>and</strong> caring provider whocan help.Work Restoration ProgramsVA provides vocational assistance <strong>and</strong> therapeutic work opportunitiesthrough several programs <strong>for</strong> veterans receiving VA health care.Each program offers treatment <strong>and</strong> rehabilitation services to helpveterans live <strong>and</strong> work in their communities.Participation in the following VA Work Restoration Programs cannotbe used to deny or discontinue VA compensation or pension benefits.Payments received from Incentive Therapy <strong>and</strong> Compensated WorkTherapy transitional work are not taxable.Incentive Therapy is a pre-vocational program available at 95 VAmedical centers <strong>and</strong> frequently serves as a mainstay <strong>for</strong> seriouslydisabled veterans <strong>for</strong> whom employment is not considered viablein the <strong>for</strong>eseeable future. Participants receive a token payment <strong>for</strong>services provided.Compensated Work Therapy (CWT) is a vocational program availableat most VA medical locations. <strong>Veterans</strong> receive an individualizedvocational assessment, rehabilitation planning <strong>and</strong> work experiencewith the goal of job placement in the community. The program worksclosely with community-based organizations, employers <strong>and</strong> state<strong>and</strong> federal agencies to establish transitional work experiences, supportedemployment opportunities, direct job placement <strong>and</strong> support-
