14 VA Health Care Chapter 16. <strong>Veterans</strong> participating in a VA vocational rehabilitationprogram.7. Certain veterans enrolled in a VA Homeless Program <strong>for</strong> 60consecutive days or more may receive certain medicallynecessary outpatient dental services.8. Those with non-service-connected dental conditions ordisabilities <strong>for</strong> which treatment was begun while the veteranwas in an inpatient status in a VA medical center, when it isclinically determined to be necessary to complete suchdental treatment on an outpatient basis.9. <strong>Veterans</strong> requiring treatment <strong>for</strong> dental conditions clinicallydetermined to be complicating a medical condition currentlyunder treatment.Recently discharged veterans with a service-connected noncompensabledental condition or disability who served on active duty 90days or more <strong>and</strong> who apply <strong>for</strong> VA dental care within 180 days ofseparation from active duty, may receive one time treatment <strong>for</strong> dentalconditions if the dental condition is shown to have existed at thetime of discharge or release <strong>and</strong> the veteran’s certificate of dischargedoes not indicate that the veteran received necessary dental carewithin a 90-day period prior to discharge or release.
