The New Year always brings asense <strong>of</strong> anticipation but also challenges. Iknow you might be sitting there with anumber <strong>of</strong> questions such as; “Did I make theright choice?” (The answer is definitely yes);“Is this worth the sacrifices I have made to gethere?” (Again the answer is yes!) Will I be ableto complete my studies on time? (dependingon your commitment, the answer is still yes).Our responsibility as CAE is to support you inrealising your goals, thus make CAE yourhome away from home.It will take you a little while to adjust to yournew environment, courses, educators andnewly found friends. Amidst all theseconcerns, remember, CAE is here to help youwith this transition.CAE <strong>of</strong>fers a number <strong>of</strong> intervention strategiesto ensure that your stay at this Institution isenjoyable, fruitful and rewarding exercise.One <strong>of</strong> the most popular CAE programmes isthe Student Mentorship Programme (SMP).This is a programme whereby experienced,committed, carefully selected and trainedsenior students volunteer their services toassist you to adjust to the <strong>University</strong>environment and succeed in your academicstudies. On the last Friday <strong>of</strong> your orientationprogramme, you will be assigned a Mentor towalk with you on this important journey.He/she will help you to settle-in academicallyand socially. Please make sure that you don'tmiss this opportunity; it is for your ownbenefit. Embrace the opportunity to helpmake your stay here a pleasant one.Remember, you are responsible for makingeducated choices.
