Transformational infrastructure: Recognising and then actingon making all large government infrastructure investmentstransformational – helping to achieve The 30-Year Plan forGreater Adelaide 1 and making the region the most liveable andsustainable area in the world.2. Increased investment in public transport: Greatly increasing theinvestment in all modes of public transport and the total transitexperience.3. Putting the pedestrian, with the bicycle close behind, at the centreof a new transportation master plan.4. An Urban Development Authority: Fairly, consistently andpredictably setting the framework for how and by whom thenecessary infrastructure and the public realm will be financed.5. Healthy communities: Recognising that making more walkingand biking friendly neighbourhoods will bring a large benefit byencouraging healthier communities as well.6. Community involvement: Developing a new approach tocommunity involvement – one that involves the community in thekey issues affecting them, and gives government a structure withwhich to consistently engage its people.S U M M A R Y O F R E C O M M E N D A T I O N S1.
