This results in a well-controlledlight gradient, a smooth transition at thebeam edge and uniform color over the beamangle. This provides better light quality thanmost halogen lamps that have hot spots,dark rings and fringe patterns around theedge and is preferable to LED solutions thatmust align multiple beams into a single radiationpattern.High quality color rendering: Takingadvantage of high performance LED chipsand unique phosphor recipes, LedEnginproducts have CRI values >80 across allcolor temperatures, with a CRI of 90 availablein warm white. Designers will not considerlamps with CRIs less than 80, and 90is better. However, CRI does not provide acomplete gauge of true color rendering; thequality of light in the warmer red and fleshtoneregions is also important.Thermal management: Proprietarypackaging produces a very low thermalresistance emitter, and in turn this allowsthe LED to be driven harder to provide agreater amount of directed light in thebeam without sacrificing the long servicelife and while still maintaining a smallform factor. Compact packaging allowsLedEngin modules and lamps to conformto existing MR16 fixtures and PARfixtures.Momentum builds for LED lightingLedEngin has coined the phrase “Lux onTarget” to reinforce the importance of deliveringtrue quality light when implementingdirectional lighting solutions.
