"Shark" – the new resectoscopes from Richard WolfFast, precise and efficient – these are the characteristicsof our new generation of Shark Resectoscopeswhich were launched in the market for thefirst time at the German Society for Urology in2012. This demonstrates why we selected theslogan "Precision with Bite" for these high-endproducts.The Shark Resectoscopes are impressive with theconsistent ergonomic design and perfectly matchedoverall system delivering intuitive handling,control and safety. Richard Wolf wants to usethese instruments to define new benchmarks inthe proven procedure of transurethral resection.The "snap-on locks" facilitate easy connectionand disconnection of system elements and areone of the highlights of this product. Our new instrumentsystem is completed by two additionalelements: the Shark tip, a beveled sheath tipmade of ceramic material and the Shark fin, afinger support which allows users to work withoutfatigue and with ergonomically designed-incomfort.New ergonomic working elements complementthe entire system and include a proximal softstop, enlarged comfort thumb rings, new lockbodies with matching and much more stableelectrodes. The elements make the systemunique and rival competitors have nothing tomatch it.One of the outstanding features in our Shark double-sheathsystem is the 360° freedom of movementof the inner sheath within the outer sheath.The outer sheath can also be connected at theinner sheath in any position as another highlightof this product. In order to provide a high level ofcost-effective investment for products manufacturedby Richard Wolf, our new resectoscopes(supplied as always with intermittent and continuousirrigation) have been developed to be compatiblewith our previous models (workingelements and sheaths).The technical characteristics of the Shark Resectoscopesimpress with their torsion-resistantsystem connectors and their optimized irrigationcross sections which prevent the occurrenceof tiresome air bubbles even when theyare operating for 12 hours. The newly developedelectrode concept significantly enhances the stabilityfactor and largely prevents the electrodesfrom tilting during application. The simplifiedcolor coding for the electrodes is also new anddifferent colors represent different sheath sizes(green=22/24 Fr., yellow=24/26 Fr., black=26Fr.). The innovative PENDUAL ® HD Camera Headis unique in the marketplace and perfectly roundsoff the system. The camera head can be adjustedinto an axial camera head by rotating manuallythrough 180° (e.g. for rigid URS, PCNL) and thispermits versatile application even alongside TUR.We are very proud to be able to present this productto our customers and hope that SHARKand other members of our urological "animalworld" will become a flagship.
