2011 YEAR 11 SOCIALCONDITIONS OF ATTENDANCE“The Gabba Room”, The GabbaThursday 23 June 2011, 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm sharpThe Year 11 Social is an event designed to provide an opportunity for the Year 11 cohort tosocialise away from the confines of school in a safe setting whilst under the supervision of staff.This is a closed event and therefore only current Year 11 students from BSHS are able to attendthe Social.The venue for the 2011 Year 11 Social is the “The Gabba Room” at The Gabba,Woolloongabba. Entry is from Gate 10 on Stanley Street.Arrival will be from 6:30 pm for a 7:00 pm start. Suggested drop off is Wellington Road, outsideEast Brisbane State School (see map attachment). Students must be collected promptly at 10:30 pm. Students will not be able to leave before 10.30pmFinger food and soft drinks will be served throughout the evening.One room will be devoted to a dance space with DJ while another space will have a jukebox andchill-out area.The deadline for ticket sales is Tuesday 7 th June, 2011 at 3:30 pm. Students in the ticket line atthis time will be served, although forward planning will prevent the possibility of missing out.Ticket price is $80. NB: Late payments will not be accepted.Dress: Smart casual. No jeans, shorts, t-shirts or polo shirts. Students dressed inappropriatelywill not be admitted to the Social and ticket price will not be refunded.Year 11 Social tickets are not transferable or refundable.The school’s Duty of Care covers students once they are inside the venue and does not extendto travel to or from the venue or students’ waiting outside the venue, therefore, it is imperativethat students are collected promptly at the conclusion of the event, at 10:30 pm.Consumption of alcohol and/or drugs prior to and during the social is prohibited. Students considered by staff to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will not beadmitted to the Social. Parents will be contacted to collect students if they arrive at the Year 11Social apparently under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Parents will also be asked to collectstudents if they consume or are found to be in possession of alcohol or drugs at the Year 11Social. School disciplinary action will follow any flouting of this directive.An appropriate level of behaviour is to be maintained at all times. Parents will be contacted andasked to collect students whose behaviour is not suitable.Tickets will be personalised (i.e. have name of holder on the ticket), and are not transferable.Students may collect tickets from M Block reception from Monday 20 June. Tickets will not beavailable immediately upon payment, therefore students should keep receipts in a safe place asproof of purchase.Professional photographers will be present at the Year 11 Social to take portraits, group andcandid pictures during the evening.
