Term 2 is underway and with all its history and close ties withGPS and QGSSSA sport, this is a very exciting term for our school. Rugby and football respectively arepreparing for a hard-fought season ahead, with the First XV holding premiership aspirations again. Thisterm only runs for nine weeks, and we are already through three. To every student of <strong>State</strong> <strong>High</strong>, Iapplaud you if you are in a sporting team this term and I encourage you to be if you are not. Term 2usually holds great significance in the culture and history of this great school, and we will make sure itdoes not cease.Although this is the shortest term of the year, it is critical that we, as a student body, maintain ourstandards in all facets of the school. Keep pushing forward with your schoolwork, work hard to engrossyourself in the many co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities that you have whilst attending thisinstitution. Maintain our standards at school events, particularly at other schools and on Saturdays atFursden Road, and just as importantly within our own school.As all of you should be aware, the Prefects are currently running an Anti-Litter Campaign to stave off theeffect that rubbish has on our school. If every student co-operates, we shall all work more harmoniously,and as Mr Haynes has explained, there will be rewards for continued improvement.To every student and parent, let’s keep moving forward. The school year is well underway, but do nothalt improvement, Strive to better yourself in this upcoming term, work towards your respective reportcards, and work hard for yourself, your team mates and your school at every sporting and music event.The Prefect body looks forward to helping out each student, and providing help wherever possible. Volunteers NeededThe annual Greek Community Festival is on again and the P&C intend to fund raise by operating twoof the school’s car parks from 1.00pm to 6.00pm on Saturday May 21 and from 9.00am to 6.00pm onSunday May 22. Please consider giving up a couple of hours to help the school by putting your name onthe roster.
