Department.Sir,I am directed to invite your attention on the subject noted above and to say that Municipalemployees including Safai Karamcharies had gone on strike in December, 1996. In order to ensurecleanliness in the Municipal areas, the Municipal Councils/Committees/Municipal Corporation,Faridabad recruited Safai Karamcharics through various recruiting channels, In March, 1997, onreaching amicable settlement between the Govt. and the Union leaders of Municipal employees, thestrike come to an end and the employees who went on strike were also taken back in service. As aresult about 2060 Safai Karamcharies have become surplus in the Municipal Councils/Committeesand Municipal Corporations, Faridabad. In order to adjust the surplus Safai Karamcharies. The FinancialCommissioner and Secretary to Govt. Haryana, Local Govt. Department, has set up a surplus pool inthe Local Govt. Department. It has been decided that if any appointment to the post of SafaiKaramcharies is recruited to be made, it should be made after taking persons from this Surplus pool orafter obtaining a non availability certificate from the Financial Commissioner and Secretary to Govt.,Haryana in Local Govt. Department in New Haryana Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh.2.
