The group hascombined for 2<strong>12</strong> tackles, or 31% <strong>of</strong> <strong>Miami</strong>’s 694 total tackles this season.Cook leads the team with 69 total tackles (38 - UA, 31 - A) while Spence ranks second with 60, Sharptonranks fourth with 53 and Davis is fifth with 30. Strong safety Anthony Reddick is third on the squad with 58tackles, while cornerback Bruce Johnson and safety JoJo Nicolas are tied for sixth with 28 apiece.Linebacker Colin McCarthy, who has missed the last seven contests with an injury, was among the teamleaders before suffering his injury setback. Spence had been a pleasant surprise coming <strong>of</strong>f the bench inUM’s first four <strong>game</strong>s before starting the last seven against FSU, UCF, Duke, Wake Forest, Virginia,Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech. So far this year, he has recorded seven-and-a-half tackles for losses (-28yards), two pass break-ups, a forced fumble, an interception and two sacks, including one on 2007Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow.Cook leads the team in solo stops (38) and quarterback hurries in addition to tying with Spence for ateam-best seven-and-a-half tackles for a loss.RUNNING WILDSophomore Graig Cooper leads the team with 730 yards rushing and is second on the team with 904all-purpose yards while James (218 - rush, 80 - receiving) ranks in a tie for fourth on the team in all-purposeyards with 298. Cooper, who has three 100-plus yard performances on the ground this year (vs.A&M, U<strong>NC</strong> and UVa), leads the team with six total touchdowns (four rush, one rec., one punt return) whileJames and sophomore Shawnbrey McNeal each have two TDs.
