Sixpoints are the difference between <strong>Miami</strong>’s current 7-4 record and a possible 9-2 start for the Hurricanes.After a 26-3 loss at No. 5 Florida, UM dropped a pair <strong>of</strong> close battles with U<strong>NC</strong> (28-24) and FSU (41-39) toopen ACC play but won their next five contests against UCF (20-14), Duke (49-31), Wake Forest (16-10),Virginia (24-17) and Virginia Tech (16-14) prior to last week’s loss at Georgia Tech. In the latest AP poll,Florida is ranked No. 2, Georgia Tech is No. 18 and FSU is No. 23.THE CHRONICLES OF REDDICKNearly four full years have passed since Anthony Reddick’s Freshman All-American season came to aclose in on Dec. 31, 2004. Since then, Reddick -- now a 22-year-old graduate <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Miami</strong> --has played in just 18 <strong>game</strong>s and started just 11 the last three-plus years. Despite a number <strong>of</strong> injury setbacksover the years, Reddick has persevered and has started at safety in 10 <strong>of</strong> UM’s 11 <strong>game</strong>s this season.Reddick’s freshman campain in 2004 saw the Fort Lauderdale native collect 73 tackles, two blockedpunts, one forced fumble, one sack and one interception. He collected a career-high <strong>12</strong> tackles twice thatseason (Louisville, Virginia Tech) and was named UM’s Defensive Rookie <strong>of</strong> the Year (along with RomeoDavis). This year, he is third on the team with 58 total tackles (including 37 solo stops).
